Slate as Chum
by Kazillions

I cannot remember back before the Internet whether "respectable" publications engaged in the act/art of chumming or not, because I remember that most of them were so slanted to the left they were so busy spinning their one-sided articles I could hardly be bothered to read them.

But, great satire is as old as humanity and is the stuff of great chum.

Is this the best Slate could do? When given the topic of religion itself, and a quiver filled with such ripe arrows as Tom Cruise, The Pope, Psychology, John Travolta, L. Ron Hubbard, and, why not, Mother Mary and the Holy Ghost, and you fail to use them?

What poverty amidst an embarrassment of riches. What shame for a writer.

The best chum Slate could manage, is "Scientology's not a cult ... hell, it's just like the Catholic Church ... both got pervs" har!

This is like choosing an oreo over a perfect creme brulee. Yes, I like an oreo from time to time, but the sheer waste of imagination exposed every day. What fun this writer could have had, and it's all just wasted in a soggy pile of processed fake chocolate flavored paste.

WOW!!! Slate should hire you as his ghost writer (instead of Mr. Carmichael)! where else do you publish? I want to read more of your writing.
