Do you need a pillow Senator Obama?
by EML

Let's compare the questions Charlie Gibson gave Obama when he interviewed him to Sarah Palin's questions;

Obama interview:
<link>

How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to "win"?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

Palin interview:
<link>

Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

I see the Penis Year theory is in full effect with Mr. Gibson. Misogyny much?

Palin has been thrust upon us as someone who is totally qualified to be VP and to step into the role of President if, God forbid, something should happen to John McCain. (As much as I hate the guy and everything he stands for now that he's no longer a "maverick," I would never wish for anything bad to happen to him.)

Because Palin has been wrapped up and presented to us as someone who has all these qualifications and experience, Charlie Gibson or anyone else is entitled to question her about this. The GOP opened the door -- they can't get pissed off when someone walks through it.

You realize that Obama had been campaigning, doing interviews, and giving speeches for over a year before that interview was given.

How could you even compare the two?

I can say the same about Obama
by EML
Sorry, he's not qualified either.
Answer me a question, why does Obama
by EML

continue to compete against the VP candidate instead of the Presidential candidate? Oh wait, because he's going to get eaten alive in the debates. The man isn't qualified to be President.

No, it's McCain who will get eaten alive in the debates. He is a horrible public speaker. I can't wait.

I guess you missed all of Obama's televised interviews. The man can't finish a sentence, never mind clearly communicate his message. He does give a great speech though.

Um, if Obama is so great at debates, then why did he refuse to debate Senator Clinton when she called for them? And I do seem to remember that at his first debate, he said something about meeting dictators with no pre-conditions.

Oh yup, he's definitely ready to be President.

Better him than a book banning creationist any day of the week.

I must be missing something: Who banned books?

They had something like 19 debates. Why the need for more? I think it would have been pretty irrelevant.

Senator Clinton didn't think so. I didn't think so. I'm sure the people in the states where primaries had not yet been held didn't think so. And if you recall, the earlier debates had a number of candidates which cut drastically into the time each one had to answer questions. It would have been very informative to hear the two candidates speak in depth on issues, with an opportunity for extensive follow-up questions.

The last debate was filled with questions that had nothing to do with running the country and seemed more targeted at the controversies related to Wright and Ayers. The questions were helping Clinton and had nothing to do with issues.

As far as meeting with dictators...correct me if I am wrong, but Reagan met with the leaders of the Soviet Union. What pre-conditions did he insist on? Please provide sources, because I doubt that there were any. Nixon met with the dictators of China...again, what were the preconditions?

Condoleeza is now meeting with Iranians. What were the preconditions? What harm was done? I could see not letting Bush meet with anyone.....he's a moron.

Well at least you're honest as to the real reason Obama didn't want to debate Clinton. They were helping Clinton as they were exposing Obama's character and inexperience and his lack of judgement. And I would say those are important issues.

We disagree. The issues in the campaign are not related to his former pastor, nor a guy who sat on the board of a charity or threw a fund raiser for Obama.

The issues are the deteriorating economy, the war in Iraq, the energy crisis, the mortgage crisis and the impending restart of the North Korean nuclear program....

None of those were discussed in the final debate. Obama was ahead. What did he have to gain with another discussion of Wright and Ayers?

Judgement? Tell me about what kind of judgement McCain showed when he asked Reverend Hagee for an endorsement.
