response to "For the Love of Zenu," an article on Scientology
by Jeanine

Forgive me if I sound like I am being harsh towards your article. I thank you for taking the time and effort to write this article, but I feel the need to share some truth.

In your article, you made some comparisons of Scientology to Christianity. People have tried to disprove Christianity for years, and have not been successful. This is because Christianity is based on the one true God, the God of Abraham and Issiac. Scientolgoy essentially makes yourself a God. This is nothing new from Biblical times when people worshiped idols and essentially made themselves Gods.

People like to create their own Gods because then they are able to make their own 'rules' so to speak. They like to hide behind the 'I'm a good person' idea. The problem is, none of us are really 'good' people. When we compare ourselves to each other, sure we can look good. Who wouldn't look good compared to people like Hitler, Charles Mansion, etc; But when we compare ourselves to God, then we run into trouble. This is why God gave us the 10 commandments, to be used as a mirror, to show us that we all fall short, and we are all headed down a dead end road, one that will ultimately lead to death and eternity seperated from God. Yet, in His mercy and grace, He provided us a way out. A way to be with Him for eternity. He sent His only son, Jesus, to saccrifice Himself for our sins. He paid the price for us- like paying someones bail. Many do not believe that Jesus even existed, or they think He was just some prophet. If you were to read Lee Strobel's book "The Case For Christ" you will find that Lee, a former atheist and lawyer, tried to prove that Jesus wasn't really who He claimed to be. After years of research, he didn't have a case. The author ultimately accepted Christ in the end of his journey of writing his book. But, like any gift, we need to except it. We need to recognize that we are all sinners, that we all need a savior, and then repent, or ask God to forgive us for our sins. We then need to turn from our sins, essentially, get off the road leading to distruction, and get on the narrow path leading to everlasting life. This is what being a Christian is all about. None of us are perfect- we are all tempted to sin. True Christians understand that we they need God to save them from their sins, that life is empty without Him, and seek to follow Him each day.

We were created to worship our Creator. His name is El Shaddai, our God, who is more than enough! Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Emmanuel, Prince of Peace. He's Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah Raffa. He reigns victorious, giving us peace and health. He is always with us. He is our help, and our provider. Holy is our Lord. So Holy. Praise His Holy name. The Name above all names. Who was, and is, and is to come. Who loves us with an everlasting love, unconditional in it's flow. Nothing we can do to make Him love us, nothing we can do to make Him stop loving us. He does, because He is. His name is Love. His way is Love.

I pray that this response will touch your heart, and leave you seeking to find the truth. The one true God. He is out there, the Bible promises us, 'seek and you shall find.' I pray that you will seek.

This is not a thread for you to preach your version of your religion. This thread is about the Church of Scientology. You wrote more words about your religion than you did about the Church of Scientology. I did not come to this thread to have you preach to me about your beliefs. Go somewhere else.

Oh, brother, another freakin' missionary

Almost enough to create sympathy for Hubbard's gang, isn't it?

OK, not quite, but still annoying.

well, it is faith based...

It doesn't have to be all scientology all the time. It's just supposed to be until this article runs it's course.
Er, did someone say
by Horus

...it had to be "all Scientology, all the time?" I don't think so.

The woman was merely using Scientology as an excuse for proselytizing, not actually debating the article. As such, it didn't belong here.

"This thread"

was initiated by the top poster and as such can be about whatever they wished it to be about.

This forum is faith based and, as such can be about anything faith related, although preferably about the currently running faith-based articles, but not exclusively required to be as those of us who frequrnt the place already know.

As far as I can tell, as long as the poster references the article, they can post anything they want.
