I do not understand why people have their undies in a bunch over the United story -- especially people at United. If a big group of people do something dumb in reaction to misreading a news link, that's their problem. And the United treasury should've bought like crazy -- how many chances does a company get to buy back its own stock for cheap, without being accused on insider trading. In this case, no insider information was involved -- anyone with an internet connection could check and see that United had NOT declared bankruptcy, that the news item was years old.
