Get some facts straight....
by Canuk Kid

I noticed something about 1867 was the year Canada got independance? And the author of the article is a former speech writer for Stephan Dion? You gotta be kidding. Canada didn't get independance, it formed a country, as it was called, "Dominion of Canada", which was ruled, as it was until Treadeau had the Queen sign something in the early 80's , by the British North American Act. Canada was, and is to this day, a "Democratic Monarchy". The Prime Minister had to visit the Govenor General to have the election called, didn't he...and the Govenor General is the Queen's representative.

Take some Canadian and world history lessons.

Hmmmm...did the writer say he was an American?

Indeed, and even if he was speaking figurativly Canada never gained complete defacto Independance from the UK until the 1930s. when Canada finally gained the right to set it's own forgien policy

Canuk Kid...for someone who seems to understand how Canada came into existence, your argument is undermined when you mispell Trudeau's name...and I hope you mispelled Canuck on purpose...

Who cares if he misspelled the name of a dead retard? His point was right on the money.

God Bless America.

For that matter, you misspelled the word 'misspell'. It's not 'mispell'.

Christopher Flavelle is a contributing writer for The Big Money, Slate's business site, which will launch later this month. He was previously a speechwriter for Stéphane Dion, leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. Nope, the writer did not say he was American. Are you so arrogant as to think that being wrong is an American quality? Looks like he was not only a Canadian, but also a writer for the Liberal Party of Canada...

Also, Canada is a 'Constitutional Monarchy', not a 'Democratic' one.
