Agree with David
by canman
I'm not an American, so I am watching this election from afar, but I too cannot for the life of me believe that Americans are taking this woman Sarah Palin seriously. I don't think her personal life should be used against her, but when some of the issues go exactly against everything she stands for, then they are an issue. It really disheartens me, but also alarms me that the average American can be duped so easily but this type of person. But the media also has a large role to play in all of this. The "lipstick on a pig" issue was so media contrived it made me ill. But there is was for almost two whole news cycles. People wake up!

My explanation for it is rather quite simple.

It's the sense that it can't get any worse so anything that happens from now on is bound to be better. Going in the right direction is inevitable. Which ever way the election goes, there'd be African American or woman at the end; and the President would not be the the 'traditional' partisan personality.
