So, help me here, Republicans...
by Archaeopteryx

...each day since the convention, John McCain and Potential President Palin have been on the hustings, making the same claim about her saying no to the Bridge to Nowhere. This claim has been debunked by every news organization in the country, including such liberal bastions as Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. Despite this, they keep it in the stump speech. They know it's not true, and we know it's not true, and you know it's not true. I know they know it's not true, and you know they know, and I know that you know that they know.

So, does this mean that the truth doesn't matter to you at all? Please don't tell me that "Obama said this," or "Clinton said that," or "Biden said this or that." This question isn't about anything but the obvious, plain lie about the earmark for the bridge.

So, how about it? Do you have just a little bit of shame about this?

She Stopped the Bridge

How is that not true? As governor, she looked at the project and killed it. Perhaps she had expressed support before she was governor, but she spoke the truth.

Your definition of "debunking" is broad in relation to Republicans. Sort of like tartuffle down there claiming she lied when she said she put the plane on E-Bay. She did put it on E-Bay. After a while, she didn't get the bids she was hoping for, and managed to sell it elsewhere. But her first action in that regard was to put it on E-Bay.

no... they do not and when their own shit winds up as their pillow by the side of the road then... time moves at different speeds depending on the state of the thing perceiving. For a rock it is a deep dream. For a plant it breaks the rocks and seeks the sun...turning ever towards. For an animal it is all instinct and appetite. For a human... such as may be... it's about choices. I guess that is where free will comes in. For a God it's all about watching people insist that they know better and... eventually they will.

I've never seen such a parade of fools as I see now. Woe... and more. For anyhone who can hear... stay away from the fan.

She wasn't exactly lying when she said she put in on e-bay, but McBush certainly was when he said that not only did she sell it on ebay but that she did so at a profit. And she was there and did not correct his misstatement of the facts.
So, I'll put you down as a "no." (n/t)

I was always taught to have something to be ashamed of before being ashamed. Otherwise, you get into all sorts of needless complications.
Sometimes I don't know what you mean.

But to me, the words are nice, the way they sound.

(I know what you mean this time. Poetry, really.)

Who's That?

At any rate, I was just going by her stump speech on the E-Bay thing. And the Mavericks ad on the bridge thing.

Both of which are perfectly true.

I just assumed as a southerner, you were raised a Baptist.

We're always ashamed of something.

What you clowns don't understand is that Republicans refuse to let Liberals define what truth is. You are simply not qualified to determine that.

If you continue to say that Palin was for the bridge before she was against it...and claim that is an outrage, then you are either exceedingly stupid or just plain lying.

..."truth" is whatever you say it is, and WSJ and Fox News are liberal.

Got it.

Yes Jack, you Republicans know what the truth is. Unfortunately you don't know what the meaning of "is" is.

Okay, how about this?

Watch the video at the link below, and tell me with a straight face that you feel really good about Governor Palin's foreign policy credentials, and John McCain's forthrightness.

"Is it naïve to think that if a candidate for national office is caught lying by the press, she might be forced, at a minimum, to stop repeating the lie? Or to explain herself? Or to apologize?

It shouldn’t be. But recent events seem to suggest otherwise."

I think what happened is that no more money was forthcoming from the rest of us, and she HAD to stop the building because of that.
