The (intelligent but) Lazy Creator Theory
by lastangelman

I posit that Spore is the best argument against the idea that the universe (as we can perceive it) was created by intelligent design. Intelligent design is a human desire and trait. Humans need to control their environment. I posit that if there is a creator, an intelligent one at that, it would have to be a lazy creator and not a micro-managing creator. The creator invents the processes that let the universe unfold by itself, developing along a few rules and guidelines but with no intervention from original programmer. Thus life could be happen when certain conditions are met, and the process for development, we'll call it evolution, happens uninterrupted at its own pace.

I would want a version of Spore that allows mutations, ones that happen, not created by a hyperactively creative player.

Been there, Done that

Have you even played simearth or simlife? Simlife contains random mutations within the game...
