Seriously, if you need to argue your philosophy using a game designer you have bigger issues. It's about playability and replayability, not realism. Just as with SimCity, SimAnt, Sim(insert title here), the designer has to pick a model that works for the game and makes it fun and enjoyable. No real rocket science or deeper meaning than that.

Overall, it's pretty sad that people have spent countless hours trying to figure out genetic variations in Sims2, or the capitalistic model of SimCity and then complaining about it. I might as well complain about the pr0n based model as the basis of many of the advances we all now enjoy on the internet...meaning, does it really make a difference? Or can we enjoy a game for its entertainment value just as all who read this enjoy the internet for a variety of reasons without having to parse all the ways in which it came to be and assign some deeper underlying hidden meaning?
