The Dems Should Fight Dirty

Without a doubt, McCain's new ad lying about Obama's support of sex education is the dirtiest campaign trick I've ever seen a candidate actually put his name on. Here's how I think the Dems should respond (yes, this is dirty too but would make McCain think twice before selling his soul again):

Obama Commercial Disembodied voice (with appropriate images):

"John McCain says that Barack Obama supported teaching "comprehensive sex education" to kindergarten students...

"John McCain knows that the only thing that would be taught kindergarten students under this bill would be how these children can protect themselves from sexual predators...

"John McCain does not want young children to have this kind of information...

"When you go to the polls on November 4, ask yourself:

"'What kind of person wants children to be subject to molestation?'"

Again I acknowlege its dirty but McCain is begging for it.

Good thing you don't write campaign commercials for Obama. Don't repeat the lie and don't sell soft. Try, "McCain opposes protecting our children from sexual predators..." and flash images of the most notorious of these criminals.

I obviously am far too gentle and delicate a flower to be writing campaign commercials. Try as I might, I just can't be as dirty as Karl Rove.

Personally, I think it is always wrong to use lies, distortion, etc.--even for a good cause--as it usurps the freedom of those it affects. In this case, turnabout may be fair play, as McCain's condemnation of Obama's support for the bill implies that he is against education protecting children from sexual predators.
