Palin is the lipstick

The context of the quote clearly shows that the pig is Bush style economic policies, and the lipstick is the new ticket of McCain and Palin, from the same party, who say they are for change but aren't going to change anything.

Even under the worst-case reading of it, McCain is the pig and Palin is the lipstick.

Under no common sense reading of the quote is Palin the pig.

Now if we could only get you to pre-interpret Obama's jokes in his defense from now on, so we can discern what he really means before he tells them...

Yes, it was referencing McCain when the comment was mentioned, so IF you want to tag it, you have to tag it to McCain, not Palin. Just typical Rove style indignation.

Repugs, why are you so touchy? McCain is a pig and a dead horse with mini hand waves and a grin on his face. Isn't that true? You can call 'Beauty and the Beast" also. He thinks he can hide behind Sarah's sexy face and win the election. He may, you never know. It may very well work. We know American people are politically naive and fall for gimmicks. So take it easy :)

So please, tell me, where's Palin, where is she like a pig, and what's the lipstick?

Here's the quote Mayzee-

“John McCain says he’s about change, too – except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics,” Mr. Obama said. “That’s not change. That’s just calling the same thing something different. You can put lipstick on a pig – it’s still a pig.”

Tell me, where's Palin, where is she like a pig and what is the lipstick?

No one would have to interpret them for you if you were capable of using just a drop of common sense. They should change that term, after reading many of the responses from McCain supporters it goes to show you that common sense is really not so common after all.

DB,

You miss the point...time after time, gaffe after gaffe I've been hearing (and I've been watching all the political shows closely now for 18 mos.) all the surrogates have to come on and say these exact words over and over; "well, what Obama is really saying here is"...(insert political cover spin here). Obama himself on the Oreilly interview was having to explain previous statements. Interesting how that same "pig" line, or it's true meaning, can be delivered easily without using the words "pig" or "lipstick", so why couldn't he use another analogy? Sorry...this was bad advice he got to use it like he did, but it WAS on purpose. When he's on his own, he stumbles. End of story.

The reason an explanation is required is because folks like you are either too stupid to understand them, or disingenuous about their obvious benign meaning.

Yep, I'm stupid alright...I admit I didn't get my Harvard Law degree so I would know how to make public statements like:

"It's great to be here in New Pennsylvania"...

or...

"And in the other 57 states"...

I admit, you'd have to explain those benign statements to me.

What on earth is your point? Do you think Obama doesn't know how many states there are? Seriously, you're proving my point- you're being disingenuous about a statement's meaning. That was option two after your stupidity.

You didn't go to Harvard? I'm shocked. They cover lipstick on a pig on the first day.

I thought I'd never see the day when a pit bull displayed umbrage. Or a barracuda, for that matter.

And they say Clinton whined?

And now, McCain/Palin has declared ownership of the word "lipstick"... I guess if you don't have a decent policy of your own, and even have to steal your opponents message, I guess stealing a word could be no more desperate.

And I was hoping I wouldn't have to go to the trouble of explaining this. I guess I can give you a pass on your lack of sense of humor given the dramatic change in the polls lately. It sounds like you're very angry and bitter. If you'd like I can let you borrow one of my guns and a bible on which you can cling, since you and your boy think the rest of us are stupid. Oh, wait...that "bitter Americans" line he said wasn't a gaffe either, right? No one had to backtrack for him and explain that one, did they? THAT is my point, knucklehead.

I've heard so many supporters have to come in behind this guy and politically spin his remarks to get him out of trouble-not so I can understand them. The commentators can "explain" all the candidates normal statements, but it's sad that the surrogates routinely have to come in behind this guy and clean up after him. If he would think first, then it wouldn't HAVE to happen. That's all I meant, and put it in a humorous way-obviously it had a bit too much truth and candor, or else you wouldn't have attacked it by reducing yourself to personal name-calling. End of story.

I said that the statements only require an explanation if the listeners are supid or ass holes, and you've proven my point perfectly.

I give up, you're right. Good luck in rehab.

I need to go to rehab because I've formed the well founded opinion that you're a stupid ass hole?

Earlier, you suggested that I sound angry. I am angry. I lost a good friend in Iraq and this election is not fun and games for me like it is for you.
