Not the book, the election. Dems should look at the Rep playbook to see how they handled G. Ferraro in that election.

As I remember that election, the Republicans used a lot of women for their attack. Even Barbara Bush said that Ferraro was a "word that rhymes with witch." Where are the female democrats?

Once Dukakis (sp?) hopped on that tank, was it even necessary to "handle" Ferraro?

With the way the voting came out, it's hard to imagine that running against Reagan in 84 wasn't a somewhat symbolic effort anyway.

What made "handling" Ferarro in 1984 unneccesary was when Bentsen promised to raise taxes. After that, Ferarro could have discovered a cure for all forms of cancer which could be sold profitably at $0.10/dose, and it wouldn't have saved the campaign....

Damn, make that Mondale, not Bentsen.
