Evidence of Global Cooling
Thursday, February 28, 2008

Cold Reception
Tuesday we told you about several areas around the planet experiencing record cold and snowpack — in the face of all the predictions of global warming.
Now there is word that all four major global temperature tracking outlets have released data showing that temperatures have dropped significantly over the last year. California meteorologist Anthony Watts says the amount of cooling ranges from 65-hundredths of a degree Centigrade to 75-hundreds of a degree.
That is said to be a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. It is reportedly the single fastest temperature change ever recorded — up or down.

It turns out Al Gore was wrong. The scientists aren’t all in agreement on global warming; thus there is no “consensus.”

Global Cooling Alert
When Scott and I wrote "The Global Warming Hoax" in 1992, a group of Danish scientists had just published a paper that compared solar energy output (as measured by sunspot activity) to global temperatures, and found a striking correlation.

Canadian Scientists Fear Global Cooling

Investor's Business Daily is reporting something we haven't seen much of in the media since the 1970s: concerns about global cooling. You read that correctly: cooling.
Kenneth Tapping, a researcher at Canada's National Research Council, wants to look for evidence of increased sunspot activity, according to IBD. "The lack of increased activity could signal the beginning of what is known as a Maunder Minimum, an event which occurs every couple of centuries and can last as long as a century."

you realize that penguins will be actually bursting into flames and there will still be periodic breathless announcements of "this just in! world actually cooling!" every time the temperature drops a degree. from the same people who also gravely announce that the warming which they deny exists is obviously being caused by the sun.

you can never count on logic and the accumulation of evidence having made any progress against the unassailable bedrock of the determined mind, now that a person's position on the solution to a mathematical equation, the relationship of global temperature and carbon dioxide emissions, has become a matter of political/religious belief, right up there with evolution and abortion.

Hope you are right

Because even the Kyoto accords only call fro the reduction of the growth of green house gases a very small amount in the next 20 years (relative to the current growth rate).

Truer words were never, nor more ironically, said.

Mmmm - could this cooling expain why the N polar ice this year is at its lowest extent since measurements have been taken? A monotonic increase in global temps isn't expected - it's a random walk around an upward trend - one or two years doesn't mean anything.

i've been tracking global temperatures for over 12 whole hours now, by means of watching the thermometer glued to the outside of my window, and as an experienced climate researcher i can say with authority that temperatures are now quite a bit lower than they were yesterday afternoon, clear evidence that the earth is now cooling. that's real experimental data, not some wild "modeling" result.
