Vetting? You liberal media have some nerve
by MisterPerson

The word "vetting" means an impartial review of a candidate.

The chutzpah displayed by Slate and the rest of the "all-Obama all of the time" liberal media in daring to use the term "vetting" for the hatchet job you have inflicted on Sarah Palin and her family is truly monstrous.

I saw some of the actual vetting questions- one example was "Have you used illegal drugs"?

How would Obama have done on that one?

I have some more vetting questions that the MSM won't ask Obama.

Did an anti-american terrorist host a fund-raiser to kickstart your political career?

Did you vote against an anti-infanticide bill in Illinois that subsequently passed the US Senate by a vote of 98-0?

Were you a member of a black supremacist church for twenty years whose pastor accused white America of deliberately creating the AIDS virus to "genocide" black people, yelled 'God damn America' from the pulpit, called Israel a "racist state' and featured Louis Farrakhan on trhe cover of its magazine on various occasions?

If the press is engaged in its own harsh "vetting" of Silly Sarah, it's because the GOP didn't do THEIRS.

Your "questions" for Sen. Obama are nothing but the usual biased, hate-crazed Rightie trash, which is why I won't dignifiy them with a response. Why don't you call him a "socialist," too, so I can laugh even more loudly at you?

Duh, what?? your comment is totally non-sensical. Third-parties do not 'vet' nominees or candidates for political parties. Only the parties can 'vet' them themselves. And they certainly don't look to the press to 'vet' them. To validate them, yes. But never to vet.

And when parties fail in their vetting process, the normal thing to do is to OPPOSE the choice made -- not to whine about the choice not having been 'vetted'. Opponents should celebrate the fact that the other side did not properly 'vet' a candidate. I, as a Republican, celebrate the fact that Sen. Biden was so insufficiently 'vetted' by the Obama campaign that they didn't even uncover the racially restricitve deed on the home he occupied as a sitting US Senator. I don't condemn the Obama campaign for a lack of 'vetting'. That would be crazy. I celebrate.
