Barely worthy of discussion
by Eigenvector

Wilson's article was a collection of oversimplifications barely worthy of discussion. Having done network and computer architecture for 10 years I feel this article did absolutely nothing but pass on the same tired specious arguments used everytime people are about to have to pay for using someone else's services.

However I will ask a simple question - do you pay to use your cell phone? Do you pay for long distance? Do you pay for local (yes you do)? There is nothing inherently wrong with forcing users to pay by the Gig or Tera or Mega on the Internet. You've payed for phone service for decades and it hasn't stifled anything. Somehow I bet this same argument arose when phones changed their charging structure.

The best thing about phone plans, though, is you can always arrange for an unlimited plan...
