Okay John McCain, thank you
by timezoned

for apologizing for your party having lost the trust of the populace. Not just your party, but the right wing militaristic segment of it that you and Bush belong to. Yes, you screwed up badly.

We appreciate the apology but you're going to be in the doghouse for just a little while. With luck, 100 years. Sounds all right to me. We'll let you know if it can be sooner, if you show that you truly understand and really change your ways. I hope you'll understand if we don't hold our breath waiting for that however.

He's basically an abuser promising "I've changed!" and begging for another chance. We've all seen them before. Yeah, you listen, but you don't really believe a word.
These "We" you Post about

Just who would those we be?
Re: These "We" you Post about

Uhm, whoever he was apologizing to?

Another possible answer: The 50% polled who are going to vote for Barack Obama instead of this extreme right wing Republican?

Yet another possible response: The people who live in the states who are polling at 260 electoral votes for Obama right now, versus 179 for McCain, if you look at "definite" and "leaning" for both Obama and Mccain, which means that of the remaining 99 "battleground" electoral votes McCain needs nearly all of them (he has to get 91 to win) and Barack Obama needs only 10?

That last one may be a little complicated so here's a visual:

It's going to be an electoral landslide, despite what the "liberal" media (i.e. the right wing propoganda machine) tells you.

I'd get used to the idea. But that's up to you.

Unless of course you meant "who appreciates the apology" in which case never mind. That part was only snark.
You do not speak for America
by HellFire

You speak for yourself alone.

Is that clear enough for you?

Re: You do not speak for America

Wrong.

You're about to find to what degree.

Have fun with that.

So says the Flaming Liberal

Who thinks he speaks for America.

I wonder if Hellfire plans to honor Barack Hussein Obama as his president, if elected. Point him out on TV to his children as our leader. Revere him as commander-in-chief of our entire military. As he did for GW Bush and Bill Clinton before him, I'm sure ;- ).
You God Damn better believe I will.
by HellFire
If Obama is Elected President make no mistake, he will be My President. And, I would die for him, on his Order.... I can offer no more of myself. No less than what I offer President Bush, no less than I offered President Clinton. The Anti-American Scum on this Board, yourself included in that, only Serves a Political Party, while I Serve and entire Nation.

Damn hellfire, you just sent a rush of patriotism up my spine. Assuming you are serious, that truly is an example of the great American spirit akin to "I complete disagree with you but will fight to the death to protect your right to say it".

Even if you're just spitting this out there to make some talking point about republicans point the country first, I know that there are people out there that truly do believe in it.

The last 6 Presidental Elections I'm 3 Wins and 3
by HellFire

Loses.

I Voted for President Reagan because I was encouraged (overly) to do so in the Army, One in the Win column.

After I found out it was Against the Law to tell people who to Vote for and who not to Vote for in the Military, sure, I still I Voted for Bush Sr. the World War II Hero, and sitting Vice President, a Second Win.

I Voted against President Bush Sr. 4 years later because I felt he let me down by not giving the green light to take Saddam out. A Third Win, as President Clinton took Office.

I Voted against President Clinton when Senator Dole ran against him, Dole being a World War II Hero. One Loss.

I Voted for Vice President Gore, as Vice President Gore had been Vice President for 8 years, and Vice President Gore went to Vietnam, even though he would have never been forced to, his Father being highly placed in Government. A Second Loss.

I Voted for Senator Kerry the next time around, Kerry serving in Vietnam, a War Hero from that War. A Third Loss.

Win or lose, I only have one President, like that person or not, Vote for that person or not, he is My President.

The dying part, well, no one wants to, but, in the end everyone does die..... so why not go out for something more important than ones self?

I think Hellfire is rather scary. He says he is willing to die for me without ever having met me. Why? Because we were born on the same big patch of dirt. Great logic. I suspect he is more interested in killing people born on other patches of dirt.

If he was born in Iraq I guess he would be an insurgent or even al qaeda member, willing to die because people he doesn't know order him to kill people he doesn't know to defend the honor of people he doesn't know. That's a meaningful life?

Prefer to think of it as Assisting in another's
by HellFire

Suicide when America needs the killing of people born in other Nations.

Because I'm just such a caring person when it comes to the needs of my fellow man on this Earth.

Serving a cause greater than one's self is definitely a meaningful life.

No, you had it correct the first time.
by HellFire
I wanted to know just who it was you purported to speak for.
Re: No, you had it correct the first time.
by bsharporflat
Please explain why getting yourself killed for 300 million people you never met, including me, illegal aliens and criminals and 150 million liberals, is so noble. I suspect your own family needs you a lot more than I do.
