If we were to build 30 Nuclear Power Plants here in the US, those NEW plants would provide for approximately 25-33% of all the electricity this country would use in a year!

THAT WOULD,,,,

A) Create EXCELLENT NEW jobs for approximately 3,000,000 Americans.

B) reduce our costs of electricity nation wide by more than 28%.

C) And lighten the load for Coal Mining, And Oil Consumption by over 15% Nationally.

D) And reduce the amount of oil we BUY FROM THE MIDDLE EAST by almost 1 Million Barrels a week!

E) In turn lowering the overall cost of oil world wide by more than $15.00 a barrell,,,,,,almost immediatley.

F) And increase the accessability and desire for people to WANT TO BY ELECTRIC CARS!

I could go on and on! But In France, they are almost EXCLUSIVELY NUCLEAR, and they have these new tecnologies perfected.

ALSO,,,THEY HAVE DEVISED A WAY TO RECYCLE THE REACTOR FUEL,,,,so that we could re-use the spent fuel up to 90%,,,,,that means,,,the amount of nuclear waste could literally be illiminated! (accept for a law J.Carter put on the books 30 years ago forcing Nuclear Power Plants to dispose of all spent fuel!) Creating the problem we are facing now, and the reason we aren`t using NUCLEAR POWER!

hey, if we can put our Mega-Submarines out to Sea in the Navy for years on end without ever having to dock, we could "more than likely" develope nuclear power to run out vehicles.

1. Non-routine operation of the reactor.
   
2. Violation of operating regulations, including the removal of most of the control rods.
   
3. Positive void coefficient characteristic of the reactor.
   
4. Apparent lack of knowledge by the station staff of the characteristics of the reactor.
   
5. Inadequate control rod design.

nuclear plant consctuction should be to sparsely or unoccupied areas, however.

The only problem I see is just where in the heck are you going to put 30 new reactors, that's alot.

Radioactive material found near plant

BUCHANAN -- Radioactive strontium 90 has been found in trace amounts in a monitoring well next to Indian Point -- the first time the isotope has been detected in off-site groundwater since workers discovered a spent fuel pool leak three years ago.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is expected to speak with county officials and others in an afternoon conference call today with Entergy, so the company could detail the preliminary test results it found during routine well sampling on the property, according to NRC documents obtained by The (Westchester) Journal News.

Entergy Nuclear, which owns and operates Indian Point, has been working to stop spent fuel pool leaks that have sent water containing strontium 90 and tritium into the Hudson River.

The test results show strontium levels that are less than 1/16th of federal allowable limits for drinking water, the well tested was not for drinking water.

NRC officials said it was the first time since the leaks showed up in 2005 on the Indian Point property that strontium 90 had showed up in off-site wells.

According to the documents, Entergy officials believe the sample showed the traces of strontium 90 because the most recent test are conducted with a more sensitive analysis, not because of increased levels of radioactivity.

NRC officials said they are fast-tracking a portion of the sample that they took during the test, to check the results as quickly as possible.

Wow.

The strontium-90 and cesium-137 concentrations in powdered milk in North America vary roughly with the specific activity of rain. The Sr90/Cs137. ratios in over 800 powdered milk samples taken from 60 stations in North America from 1957-60 have a standard deviation of only 44 percent.

Strontium-90! We're all dooooooooomed! Shut down that Plant and take all the powdered milk off the shelves!

Chernobyl was a poorly designed, poorly maintained, poorly safeguarded facility where an experiment of poor design went off the rails over 20 years ago. How does it parallel modern nuclear design and safeguards?

problems with the reactor at Indian Point, New York which is located 35 miles from Manhattan? Besides the poor maintainence problems, the danger of terrorist attack or natural disaster is very real and could destroy millions.
