Sarah Palin's Affair
by Greco
+1 Reply

Ok, it is The Enquirer, more closely known for stories of Sasquatch sightings, dog-faced boys, and Saturday night visits from the mother ship to various trailer parks across the south to collect DNA samples, but they've got a juicy new story going. Sarah Palin had an affair with a business associate of her husband.

To no one's great surprise, she's denied it. The McCain campaign is showing the appropriate outrage. But, it is The Enquirer and they kinda were out front on the John Edwards story, and we all remember how that turned out.

If there are any elements of fact to their story, Alaska is a very small state, with only 640,000 residents. It's more like some small town where you never have to use your turn signal because everybody knows where you're going. Keeping a lid on it there would be much harder than having your escapes happen all across America. If it's true, it'll come out. Count on it.

Meanwhile, the story is gaining traction. Even the London Telegraph is reporting it. And today The Boston Herald picked up on the story.

You guys are getting worried trying to smear Ms. Palin. It is the old Clinton trick of politics of personal destruction. Besides you same leftwing surrender monkeys were saying during the Clinton years that what someone did in their personal life was their own business.

Thats funny, they print a story based on allegations from a rouge cop that used a taser on a 10 year old kid.

Oh yea, I'd take that to the bank.

We still say that. It's the Republicans that like to dig up the dirt and hurl it around. It becomes relevant when the Republicans try to sell themselves as our morals police and run on family values as the Goody-Goody Party.

Which political party spent $50 million of our tax dollars chasing down an affair? Why it was the Republicans. Remember that? It was in all the papers.

You don't seem to remember it well, you have no clue what the case was about. Democrats are the party of denial.

Palin threw a lot of rocks the other night.

Not such a smart thing to do when you live in a glass house!

I don't know if the "affair" story is true or not, but her judgement is certainly questionable considering the fact that she lashed out at the media in a big way in her speech.

Smart politicians simply don't do such stupid things in public!

Frankly I could care less about who sticks their wee-wee in who's who-who.

I agree with Greco that this is a Hypocrasy issue when it comes to the morality police - the Rethugs.

That is why peole throw Larry Craig, Ted Haggerty, Vitter and Mark Foley in their faces - It is the hypocrasy thang!

I could care less about females at 17 getting pregnant as well. My mom went thru and is still married to my dad after 60 years.

But the hypocrasy thing should be pointed out!!!!

These Rethugs think Dems have no morals.

Your right, the media should be allowed to run our country and choose our elected officials for us.

They are the powerful and no one should ever question the media.

I do realize that the media has the power to destroy anyone. But should they be allowed to have that power? You seem to think so.
Maybe not the bank, but how about court?
by Trebuchet

Not sure how McCain could feign outrage over this latest bruhaha of his own making, since sex outside of marriage seems to be a theme in the Palin family, (is this a presidential bid or a episode of My Name Is Earl?) but he did dispatch a team of lawyers to the National Enquirer and threatened to take them to court if they did not cease and desist immediately.

Nat Enq gave them the little george "Bring It On" and outlined their evidence to the McCain Lawyers.

As far as I can tell, there will be no law suit.

And the Enquirer is setting up office in Alaska. They pay for their news stories. Expect the worst.

What happened to personal responsibility?

You do something - good, bad or inbetween - and you should not have to be afraid that the press will report on it.

Taking pesonal responsibility for your actions - when will that be more than a hollow speech for the Republicans?

Of course anything for a buck but their source is extremely tainted. I guess they were much interested in printing a story about a cop that tasers 10 year olds, but to each his own.

How much do you think they would pay me if I could manufacture a story about Obama banging his own daughters, I bet if I could make the story believable enough it be worth a great deal.
