Did Carol McCain "stand by her man"
by JUST_IN_CASE

throughout his five year plus time in captivity and, if so, what was her final reward for her loyalty? Curious>

Gramps

McCain cheated on her with Cindy,

Then after a messy divorce McCain refused to give Carol alimony & the Reagans helped her out financially.

As can be expected, the Reagans never liked McCain in spite of McCain making subtle references of his friendship with the Reagans.

Best Regards

Probably the same reward Hillary Clinton was gifted with.

Hypocrite much?

As none of us were in the McCain shoes,I think it is useless to speculate.

I do know they are friends and he admitted his responsability.

Where did the info about him not taking care of his children come from? I head teh reagans took her part, but that is funny as Reagan was divorced too.

There are many stories about that one.Jane said she was sick of his constant politics and divorced him and he was devastated.

Then later they said he was having an affair with Nancy and divorced her.My memory says the Jane story is true,as I remember it at the time. Jane was my favorite actress at that time. And Reagan dated many women in between.

It takes a special kind of woman to stand by her man, in the background and on the sidelines...... when he's constantly involved in politics and constantly at the beck and call of America. I am speaking of first ladys that do NOT aspire to be President themselves, like Hillary, for instance.
