Okay, I'm convinced. I'm voting for McCain

He's no Sarah Palin but he has my vote.

Actually, I had already decided to vote for Mccain before his speech tonight.

McCain was good. It's a matter of straight talk (yeah, I know it sounds corny to a Lib because they don't know what it means) versus smoke, mirrors, and bullshit.

The irony is heavy. Obama rejected the one woman who could have won the election for him and McCain picked the one who will win it for him.

I've Never Seen the Base

This pumped up. Maybe it's a sense of relief. We can actually win this thing. Maybe it's a sense of confidence that McCain is sure-footed with razor-sharp instincts. Judging from anecdotes, hometown conversations and this board, traditional Republicans are coming home, joined by a lot of lunch-bucket Reagan Democrats and a fair, if not overwhelming, number of pissed-off Hillary people.

And, by golly, we had one helluva balloon drop. They skipped that as not being eco-friendly, opting instead to TP the Temple of Obamacles. I love the balloon drop. No such thing as a convention without a balloon drop.

Indeed
Thats a sexist thing to say

How dare you proclaim palins gender in a post. You could have said the one VP pick but you didn't you had to make anordeal out of her gender. You sexist pig.

Yeah McCain called the GOP base a bunch of big government corrupt me first politicians. he was right about that.

Phew! I'd vote for him too

if he'd promise to keep the Supreme Court off my ovaries. That was a hell of a speech.
A Continuing Mystery
by Urquhart

Is how anyone has any excuse whatsoever to hold signs upside down. Happens at political rallies for both parties. How drunk do you have to be?

Sorry to hear the Supreme Court is on your ovaries. Must cause discomfort.

Hasn't happened yet, but

couldn't agree more, trying to avoid it as we speak.
How many times
by Dr H

did Obama's speech get interrupted by protesters?

Let's see, 85,000 watched Obama's speech at Invesco, maybe 15,000 saw McCain's in the arena.

Sucks to be you.

What a Shock!

Here I was convinced you were really on the fence about which candidate to support!

He did. When he spoke of 'The Rule of Law and judges not legislating from the bench'..that basically covered that. Of course the old guard always thinks it's about the old Earl Warren Court of the JFK era that the old right used to rage about Re; Civil Rights..but it is every bit as applicable to any attempt to reverse Roe vs Wade now that it is indeed Setlled Law.

But that' a whole other long exhaustive thing that can be played by both sides endlessly because it truly is nothing but a red herring the dems hold women hostage to every damn election cycle.

The big Top Politicians in the GOP give lip service to their right wing base on Roe..but have about as much intention of overturning Roe as Pelosi has of Impreaching Bush for War Crimes.(none) ,even as she takes money from the Move-On.org.and pays 'lip service' to their wishes as well.

A few minutes ago. What's your point?

I wish that's what he meant by that line

but it's not. In other words, he was being a tad um, two faced.
