Kind of anti-climatic. Palin added the only interesting part but the entire convention was just a nodder. Even McCain's stances were just unremarkable when they are not blatantly misleading. Maybe it is because Obama's conference was so energized and the last day was a big BAM ending. Don't know but I have no idea what this will do for McCain.

It was unclear for about 30 seconds whether McCain's speech was over.

It was a huge crashing bore. One second he was mindlessly droning on. The next it was over and I thought, that's it? It's done? That's all ya got, Mac?

I also thought, I shoulduh went to bed like I originally planned and read my book instead.

Oh well, now I'm definitely done. Stayed a few more minutes longer on here than I wanted.

It wasn't just you. Usually a good speech builds to the end, there is a progression and a listener can hear it is concluding. McCain just blurted. In fact I thought there were many non-sequitars. Some portions were disconnected and sounded random. Maybe that was me.

It's not a home run by any measure and probably brought the whole thing down several pegs from last night. We'll have to watch the polls to see if McCain getss any benefit from the convention.

Mary, I totally disliked Sarah Palin last nite, she came off as mean, bitchy and verbally abusive, yet it really sold with this crowd. The one and only thing I liked about McCain's speech was the way he tried to inject a unity theme, yet the crowd obviously hated it.
