Liberals cry like a little girl

Yes its true. Your guy got hit, but he should be able to take a punch, no? He is not going to get a warm bath and a glass of milk from Putin or Bin Laden is he? If your guy is not tough enough to win and stand up for himself against a few little jokes then how the hell is he going to stand up to a Republican dominated Congress (which will happen eventually, no doubt), and you all complain about Bill Clinton's ineffectiveness in doing this. Democracts are like the soccer players of politics, they get a little bump and they roll on the grass in agony, at least until the ref. comes by. Republicans come off looking like the hockey player given a penealty but grinning all the way to the box. Dry your tears and quit your whining. Its a tough world out there.

Wouldn't those same rules apply to Palin? Anything else would be sexist, right?
Re: Liberals cry like a little girl

well of course, and who could say that she has not had aan absolutue boat load of criticism over the last week. That is why the whining from the left is so hilarious. Total crybabies.
You're right
by DeaH

The right never criticizes Obama. No one ever attacked anyone in his family. No one ever made up any rumors about him. No one has EVER denigrated his work and history.

So, I guess all this stuff about Palin is just plain unfair! After all, no one ever would hold her to a different standard who wasn't just a liberal, sexist crybaby.

Yep, she is being held to a different standard. You are right. So, you tell me, why is that?

Did you click the link in my previous post? I couldn't agree more that she is being held to a different standard, and it is totally sexist.

I am very interested in why you might think the people in that clip are holding Govenor Palin to a different standard.

Sorry deaH, I really thought you were being sarcastic, because that is the general tone of this form.

Speaking of double standards...

Did you just use a sexist put-down after spending the last week accusing the media of sexism? Gee, talk about the audacity of, well, audacity.

Yes, I did, Someone has to cop to it.

Why are you so afraid to click and respond to this link:

If you're so confident in your position, you should be able to, without attacking the source of genuine information to boot.

I'm not bothered about attacks on Obama, or not too much, at least. It's annoying to see smears, but both sides get smeared to some extent. And in a democracy with freedom of speech, you have to tolerate questioning. It's like in science: you always have to allow any theory to be questioned, even if 99% of attacks on very well established theories are incorrect or even deliberately misleading. You never know what that remaining 1% might turn up.

What bugs me right now is that the Republicans have nothing but personal attacks, plus vague homilies and cultural code-words. They have given up the policy debate. They know they get smacked there, for three reasons.

(1) They don't have well-defined policies in many areas

(2) McCain and Palin have many flip-flops they don't want to defend

(3) A lot of their platform (such as it is) is unpopular outside of the base, due to the failures of the GWB years. They've moved back to Bush too much, to placate the "30%"

So all we see is sarcasm and ridicule against Obama; and lots of image-laden platitudes about Palin and McCain.

Obama has way more policy detail than the Republican ticket. You aren't going to see any new policy from the Republicans in the next couple of months, either -- mark my words. All you will get is attempts to cast Obama as dangerous, plus apple-pie stuff about the Republican pair.

So this election will be about the maturity of the voting public. Can they see past the surface, and understand that government is about what you get done, not about your cultural identity? Wait and see, I guess. At the moment the polls give me some hope.

I'm still waiting for Palin's critics to actually come up with a quote from her speech that was 'vicious', instead of projecting their own hang-ups and hatreds left over from what seem to have been very traumatic high school years onto this woman. Dahlia had to resort to making up a quote and putting it in Palin's mouth.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Rasmussed tracking polls show higher approval ratings for Palin than for the Messiah from Chicago. An acknowledgment that 'I don't like her, but apparently I'm not typical' would at least show some integrity on the part of the women who dislike Palin strictly on political grounds, and then flail around trying to pretend she is some kind of ogre. They would be dippy over a 'Sarah Barricuda' if she was on their side; instead they have to make do with whiny prep-school types.

There may be some kind of weird jealousy going on here; Palin's life is what a lot of urban feminists would cheer for as an example of what they admire, juggling career and family, being able to mix traditionally 'feminine' activities (beauty pageants) with traditionally 'masculine' ones (hunting and fishing) without thinking that you have to be type or the other, marrying a macho guy (one-quarter Eskimo) who has no hangups about supporting her career. Men tend to like this kind of unselfconscious gal a little more than they like these tense 'feminists' who wore their little 'I Believe Anita Hill buttons while obsessing about their biological clocks and wondering why they had trouble meeting men who were up to their exalted standards. Women like these were lauding Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman not so long ago, before they were shocked and bewildered by the fact that these women failed their narrow political test, too.

I forgot. There is a quote from Palin's speech that was nasty. It was when she reminded people of The Messiah's nasty and condescending remarks about white working-class folks before the usual audience of glitzy hypocrites in San Francisco. Trouble is, she was paraphrasing Barack Obama.

Strange you think that only the Democrats whine. What about the Republicans constant whining about the left-wing media, liberal judges, the assault on family values, big government? Seeing as they ARE the government, and Bush has expanded the size and powers of government hugely, isn't that just a tad hypocritical?
