As former news reporter, Sarah Palin, deftly read her script last night, you had to wonder how things might've gone if she actually wrote the speech herself. As it was, the speech continued the GOP march along the same trodden path of more oil, more corporate breaks, less healthcare, more earmarks, more lobbyists, more special interests, and more sanctimonious, self-righteous, religious morons professing tough stances, with zero foreign policy strategy to back them up.

Obama writes his own speeches. When he talks, it's his words. When Palin spoke last night, and McCain speaks tonight, it will be Rove and Schmidt and Bound's agenda. I like McCain and Palin. I'd be happy to drink a beer with 'em. But I don't like Rove or Schmidt or Bounds, and that's who we're dealing with in the GOP.

He is a truly tragic figure. I once had a great deal of respect for John McCain.

Then he accepted that our country should continue torturing, and lost his soul.

speaks volumes. That's why I'm confident I'm right. You've been wrong for 8 years, and if you think Obama's plans are shit, those plans are more assuredly the way we should be going.
