empty seats

These last four days I've been tuning in to the Republican National Convention and I've noticed the same thing every night: empty seats. Where are the masses of GOP support? support like the DNC got?

Could the problem be that the Republicans, the latest example being Sarah Palin last night, could offer no solutions to the nations financial woes? woes you and I feel very personally?

Last night Palin proved to be an expert at the art of political attack, comparing herself to a "pit bull!" The question is: what can an attack dog do to fix the national health care system? or Social Security?

Attacking an opponent is easy when he's not there to fight back...offering real solutions to our problems is much harder, what we need is a community organizer in the White House, not an attack dog.

I also noticed that the average age is, well, ummm, OLD. The music is old or country.

Those empty seats will all but 'disappear' tonight!

Instead of having McCain on the STAGE, where the cameras are apt to cast an eye on those empty seats, high above, tonight they will have McCain DOWN on the floor...at eye level with the front row seats. Unless a camera is deliberately turned up toward the heavens, those empty seats should be no trouble at all, for keeping them 'hidden.'

The 'angle' tonight is designed to be friendly both to the cameras, and to McCain, who likes the 'town hall meeting' feel!

Palin's message last night was 3 fold...sell McCain, sell herself, and ATTACK Obama.

After 5 days of coaching and hours spent on the delivery, it went off like it was supposed to...like there IS no tomorrow to worry about, when the bills start coming in, as they are wont to do the first of each new month.

Look at 'em go........God, I don't know whether I can stomach another night of hearing old war stories, all over again or not.

They've been told, repeated, used to avoid answering real and pertinent questions, until they are worn out. That's not to take anything at all away from McCain's service to our country, but maybe he should look on the bright side....at least he lived to return home! There were more than a few other heroes who were not that lucky!

But odds are, they will be replayed at every opportunity again tonight.

Happy Listening!

We noticed the same thing.

A little while ago, Chris Matthews and Andrea Mitchell said the lines of people trying to get in tonight were much shorter and a noticeable lack of enthusiasm.

What we've noticed is that in every speech, there's been no hint of solutions to the problems we face. Every speech is attack, attack, attack and the danger for McCain camp is that the other voters they're trying to reach are Independents, By not even touching on issues, there's really no reason for Independents to go for McCain.

I can tell you one thing for sure: The first time he says, "My friends"......I'll change the channel. He's not my friend. I've never met him. I don't want to. Not my idea of lively conversation.

Do yourself a favor. Change the channel before he even comes on.

Because nothing he could possibly say would change your mind in the slightest, so what is the point of watching?

Curiosity to see if someone can finally get around to addressing the issues. "Course when you have no plan it doesn't leave much to talk about.

Loree (in my best Palin sounding whiney voice) ..."Do I have to sit through those old war stories again tonight?! I have them all memorized, since they are his answer to every question thrown his way, that he can't or doesn't want, to answer!

Jesus! At least he lived to come home....there were a big bunch that didn't, and he has to make US suffer, because HE did?!

ENOUGH!
