What to look for tonight in McCain's speech

I have to give Obama points for continuing to talk about kitchen table issues. In the last two weeks of campaigning the Republican side has put these issues in the closet...I want to know why... the silence has been noticable to the point that it is making headlines and still there has been no response from the right.

That is not to say that I trust Obama to keep these promises just that he is smart enough to keep them alive and in front of his audience and indeed these issues need to be kept alive.

This country has suffered for far too long under the transfer of wealth party fostered and operated by Bush-Cheney with their wall street pals in tow. The shifting of the class parameters has impacted America to the point where a $100, 000 income does not even guarantee home ownership and many agree that the wealth barrier is up in the 250K plus area leaving a full 90 percent of the nation out in the cold when it comes to the American Dream.

Changing this is not going to be easy...it has been building for a long time and it is not going to go away without the kicking, screaming protests of those who profit richly from it which would include most of your elected officials both Democratic and Republican along with CEO's, investors, Bankers, and speculators...while the blue collar class labors on against the pressures of globalism, the devaluation of the American currency and the general inflation of living costs on the whole. Obama continues to hit at these issue....Mcain on the other hand has ignored them rather nociceably...if he does not mention them at all tonight I can only assume that he is counting on the blind support of the Bible Belt to vote Republican even if it hurts...It's hard to say if this will carry him through.

I'm gonna be pissed as all hell if he gets in with no promises to make things better for the Amercan blue collar....it just isn't either fair or right.

I will be listening very closely for those particular elements.

Since its McCain running against Obama ( and hopefully the DNC will continuously remind Americans of the postions on the ticket) Mccain needs to out perform both Obama and Palin. If not, his performance must considered a failure.

If Mccain cannot outshine his own Jr. partner on the ticket he will show that he is to far past his prime to be considered an effective leader. If McCain cannot outshine Obama then it will show that he cannot motivate and that he cannot rally the American people to the monumental task of fixing everything the GOP has screwed up. Of course since he has no intentions of fixing anything that his own party has screwed up hes probably just going to mumble through a few standard press release items and call it a night. After all at his age a rousing speech may put him in the hospital.

An ANWR reversal tonight. And some tax cut stuff. And a laundry list of happy-sounding crap that tests well but will never happen.

The above was plagiarized from another poster on this thread.

How to improve the economy?

Put tariffs on a lot of the chinese goods coming in to this country...

Amnesty for all Bankruptcy individuals and repeal the latest bankruptcy laws now on the books due to GWB.

Put a 'freeze' on all prices for major goods...and services. for at least four years.

Give new home-owners a minimum of a $10K deduction the first year of their homeowner's interest payments.,,in addition to their interest payments.

I've heard that the title of his speech is something like "safety and security for America". I take that to mean that tonight may represent a return to the old Rove tactic...win votes by instilling fear. I think we'll hear some stuff about evil people in foreign lands trying to destroy America and that will be interlaced with some "I'm a POW so I'll protect you" stuff, followed up by the old standard "Democrats are pussies".

Luckily, McCain is so bad in front of a teleprompter that no one will be paying attention to what he's saying.

It wouldn't matter what was promised because the money system itself is the problem that causes the transfer of wealth. No one except Ron Paul (who wasn't invited to this party) has addressed the money system.
sigh.......
