Palin, Way more impressive than Hillary, Obama.

When I saw Palin last night I was extremely impressed and must say that she, seems to me, to represent the true sentiments of Americans. After watching Palin's exorbitant talent on display I have no choice but to deem the republicans a party which has a monopoly on traditional morality, economic progress, political experience, and political talent.

The Democrats, at this point, seem far too jaded after such an arduous and long presidential campaign that all they do is irrationally criticize the republicans, big business, and cling to an illogical exuberance for the civil rights movement, environmentalism, welfare and a hatred for war.

And while the above mentioned things are not wrong per se, the republicans already have a religious side of their party's ideology which offers the same arguments as those of the democrats, and so counteracts the criticism effectively while pushing for economic progress and stability.

The Dems seem left with people who, eschatologically, hold beliefs with traditional moral roots, but which have been cleansed of most of the symbolism typically associated to religions. More or less, the Democratic party projects what's taught at public school classrooms onto the national political stage: a certain morality not defined as being associated to a God, but to a vague form of empirical science which is just a mystical, ill understood, and nihilistic as the word God is to evangelical flocks - (though empirical science is usefull it's actually a slight bit more nihilistic than theology).

However, public school values, values which include an unquestioning loyalty to affirmative action, abortion rights, and the editorial pages of the New York Times and local newspapers, when not cloaked as religious imperitives, become obvious for what they really are: illogical.

And illogical behaviour on the part of sheep seems only logical if the sheep think someone, or something, is actually, logically, tending the light behind the scenes: giving cause to think there's actually someone who understands all of the things they don't and can ensure a smoothly operating world.

We can safely say then that the Democrats have a hard time persuading people that this is so without religion. In fact, the only way they can persuade sheep that someone is tending the light is, like evangelicals, from the pulpits of their various institutions. For the democratic party, the public school system and universities act as a conduit for this type of behavior to some extent. Those lavished by awards and praises at these insitutions become future democratic "lions," everyone else is left to face a different sort of corporate reality, one devoid of morality focussed toward the some utopian future where the earth is different than it is - to say the least.

I suppose, that if I were to vote Democrat, I would want to know what Businesses are Democratic institutions, or if corporations just give to both parties because they want everyone's business. What corporation is an Obama corp and what corporation is a republican corp.

Does the credit go to the reader, or the scriptwriter?

Matthew Scully is taking a bow for writing every word. If you want to read Sara Palin's words, try this: Palin praised Obama energy policy

And there you have it, folks: talk like this from some Democrats is the reason why Sarah Palin's down to earth image and plain talk appeal so strongly to so many Americans. The above paragraph may play well in a senior thesis -and it may well be right - but it will win over very few voters. The comparison to sheep was also quite appealing.

Well, we do love those spunky gals with beehives, donchya know!

Barf and gag. I've worked over thirty years to kill that "spunky gal who hangs with the boys because they remind them of their mothers sexualized, and boy can she throw them zingers" persona.

Women like Sarah Palin are frauds. They aren't anyone, they are what men expect them to be.

The only thing more disgusting is that men fall for it every damn time.

What the hell is an Obama corp? If you mean a corp that gives to Obama then just say that. The rest of your post is crap couched in too damn many words. How's that for spunky, Mister.

Oh boy and howdy doody, we love Sally and her down to earth zingers! Ya betcha!

She's an empty pair of pumps. How anyone can think having a speech dumbed down to a few snappy insults is somehow a compliment is beyond me. The repubs found a mother figure who will make all things difficult into simple one liners. Their base is going wild.

Head hurt over Israel and the Palestinians? Sarah says, "We just need to drive an Arctic Cat over there and nuke 'em all!"

Can't figure out what to do about Russia? Sarah says, "Just let 'em try to invade Alaska! We'll give 'em heck!"

Need someone to negotiate with Eye-ran? Send Sarah! Sarah says, "Achmadinejad, you just need a little nappy nap. I'll put you, Trig, and the new God-given bundle of illegitimate joy down on the table cloth and everything will be A-OK!"

Jesus Christ.

Adrasteia, you Inescapable One, you sound more scared than the boys here.

Assuming you're a gal, of course.

What amazed me was how soft she really was on Obama...

Obama deserves ten times the sarcasm leveled at him last night...

He knows he is on easy street for the moment...

The Dem Congress, esp Senators all give him a free pass 'cause they all their hands in the same cookie jar.. .

I can't wait until the truth really starts coming out... Thank God for maverick reformers like McCain/Palin... .

And "the truth" would be...?

"The Democrats, at this point, seem far too jaded after such an arduous and long presidential campaign that all they do is irrationally criticize the republicans..."

And how did Palin identify herself?  By spending half of her speech attacking Obama.  The vast majority of the RNC seemed to be focused on the weaknesses of Obama over the strengths of McCain - and by the way, he's still a POW, as every major speaker remembered to point out.  The campaign is still about Obama much more than about Palin and McCain, and both of them proved it with their own words this past week.

I am not, never have been, and never will be a "gal" or scared.

I am a woman. A woman who believes zingers and one liners delivered with arched eyebrows and lipstick are cute but hollow.

I have worked for over 30 years in a man's world. I have proven myself by being to the point, direct, and not a giddy girl or a mommy.

And then came Sarah. You conservatives just love women who pander. Bet John McCain pats her on the ass and tells her to bake some cookies. Pathetic.

And Obama would take it without the whining a crying that the right is doing over the vetting of Sally Snowplow.

Re: Palin, Way more impressive than Hillary, Obama.
by Adrasteia

I heard little Sally mention exactly two positions or policies. "Drill here, drill now" and "What John says." The rest was about her and coy little insults.

Palin, Way more impressive than John McCain. So who is the candidate here? And what do you mean the 'true' sentiments of Americans? The Republican National CULT seems to be the sheep here. Why don't you all get down on your knees and pray (or baaa) to Sarah, your divine dominatrix.

After all if McCain is trying to tell his he stands for change:

than you jacka--es have short term memory loss.

Palin, Way more impressive than McCain, who is for the big change, like Bush, 8 years before him: Here's the link in case it didn't work in last = See McCains' big acceptance speech, and Mccain the Maverick?
