So, Palin's little girl is a baby-momma. The situation is rife with irony.

I get to hear conservatives extolling the virtues of an unwed teen mother. Evangelicals are calling her mom brave instead of irresponsible. This is the same group who helped impeach a President for getting head in the White House.

Liberals, other the other hand, are talking about what a bad person Palin is for abandoning her family for a career. Her daughter is a tramp, who has abandoned traditional values. These are the same folks who adamantly defend women's right to both the workplace and family, and who faught to reject those values in the 60s.

The irony on both sides is almost comical. You'd think that the least each side could do would be to remain consistent and a bit introspective. I'd disagree with the author's conclusions and say that both sides are making arguments based almost entirely on self interest.

Clinton wasn't criticized for having an affair, but for having one with an INTERN, someone underneath him (no pun intended), which is a no-no in any organization. He abused his position of power and authority.

IOW, if Clinton had picked her up in a bar, no problem.
