John McCain's vetting procedure

McCain: Sarah, would you like to be my running mate?

Palin: Absolutely.

McCain: Before I can make a formal offer, you'll need to submit to a thorough, comprehensive, and exhaustive background check.

Palin: That's no problem senator.

McCain: Sarah, have you ever been involved in any legal or ethical scandal?

Palin: No senator.

McCain: OK, you're hired.

Palin: Thank you.

I think he had Monica Goodling do the vetting.

Obama's vetting process:

Obama; Joe you got any scandals in your closet? Ethics problems?

Biden: Well, my son and brother are involved in a lawsuit over a hedgefund. You know, my son the lobbyist.

Obama: Well, that's okay, the liberal mainstream media won't bother looking into any of that, right?

Biden: Right. No need to worry.

Typical liberal ignorance (they don't let the facts stand in the way of a good smear). But here's the real facts; 25 man team -- <link>

Actually, I understand they didn't even have a team on the ground in Alaska until Thursday, the day before he announced Palin.

Certainly, they wouldn't have missed those juicy tidbits about her being part of an Alaskan party that wanted to secede from the US!

McCain wanted Lieberman, and was holding out until the last minute.

Oh yeah, and that Biden stuff. What about McCain's Keating Five scandal? McCain was practically in bed with scandal long before he became too old to be President.

Here's a huge difference.... California and NY believe that they should be able to cram their uber ultra-left views down the entire nations throats. They call this progressive populism, even when they are a minority, as long as they have 51% of the vote. When they're less than that, they think they should ignore populism, and be able to ignore national standards and "pioneer" (which means cramming their urbane views down the rest of their state's votes). Basically, they're thugs and tyrants. This doesn't float well with the "leave us the hell alone" rural residents in their own states, or the red-staters. It's gotten so bad that State's like Texas and Alaska talk about succession every now and then, and some kids finding themselves explore this option. But unlike Liberal fanatics, they don't do vandalism or terrorists (like Obama supporters and friends), they tend to just talk about what it would be like to live in a free country again, not one run by progressive cretins. Then the left ignores their extremism, and portrays the right's extreme as worse. It's like the joke, muslim extremists are suicide bombers, Christian extremists are Amish. We'll liberal extremists are are Obama and his Weatherman terrorists buddies.... conservative extremists have casual conversations about freedom from tyranny / e.g. the liberals. I don't like extremism, but I'll take conservative extremism given that choice.

There's a word for people like you! It's friend. Thank you for being a soldier in the war against Leftist tyranny. Side point: Did you watch the Jesus Ghandi Obama speech at the DNC? If you did, did you see the poster one of the California delegates was holding, with Obama's face on a postage stamp? It looked like a Soviet propaganda poster of Vladimir Lenin with the backgoround a sort of Manila color and Obama in red shading. I thought it was priceless, I'd never seen such an embodiment of a picture being worth a thousand words.

Apparently only politically motivated murders from over 30 years ago count. There have been two cases in the last few months of conservatives murdering liberals and a plot to assassinate Obama in Denver was recently foiled. Earlier today I was reading comments to an article on the arrest of a journalist who was covering protests in Minneapolis. The majority of these comments were about how much the commenters would like to do violence against the protesters. You can pretend that there is some good vs. evil devide between conservatives and liberals all you like, but no one who pays attention to the world is going to take you at all seriously.
