Bring back Prohibition, for SAFETY!

Alcohol is a hard drug, and is intimately connected to nearly every type of crime. Every year hundreds, possibly over a thousand, die from alcohol poisoning or in incidents where it plays a part. Many millions in the US are addicted to this dangerous drug, which rots the liver, damages the brain, and kills more than any other. So we have an obvious choice: bring back PROHIBITION.

After all, if drugs like marijuana, LSD, and most psychedelics are illegal even though total deaths from all of them since their popularization in the 1960's is almost certainly less than alcohol related deaths in a year, it only makes sense to put alcohol in scedule I (well, maybe scedule II, like cocaine - there may be a few medical uses). Sure, drug running will become a bigger issue, but hey, the DEA is doing a great job with all the other drugs! They've kept cartel and gang related crime down without undo harm to our liberties, after all, nobody seems to have a problem with SWAT teams, no-nock raids, and "civil" forfeiture. Our safety, our very lives, are at risk!

It's clear that the good of society must come first.

Oh, and you guys with the hamburgers - you better watch out, we've got our eye on you too! Don't think that us healthy people are going to let you poison yourselves at the "golden arches" forever!

They didn't rescind prohibition because they changed their minds about alcohol, they did it because it didn't work. Alcohol can be made out of virtually any vegetable matter in an area 4 ft.² or less. There is no practical way to stop it from being made. Or do you propose the government put cameras in every room in every home of the country?

If you want to grow plant-based drugs you first need seeds or cuttings, and many hard drugs need to be imported from tropical countries. In theory at least, these things provide the government with a way to control those drugs. There is no way to control the production of alcohol.
