This is a scoop -- an Eagleton-class scoop. It is also, sadly, plausible. This is how pro-lifers like Palin who oppose sex ed and birth control respond when their daughters get pregnant -- it is a story right out of the 1950s, and not the "Leave It To Beaver" 1950s myth the GOP loves telling.

I am skeptical of this story -- but I do want an answer.

I can't think of anything I've found funnier in a long time than watching elements of the left tie themselves into emotional knots over Sarah Palin's choices regarding her child.

Look -- at the moment I am inclined to believe that this rumor is an "Obama is a Muslim" type of claim from the blogosphere -- but, just as that story was worth a look, this one is, too. I think that the odds are that Sarah is Trig's mother -- but I want the mainstream press to debunk the story.

In any event, I think I can guarantee that this will be a Law and Order episode. Imagine -- candidate for governor killed by her own daughter -- so that the daughter can get her own daughter back from a mother who claimed it as her own to conceal the fact that her daughter is not a good poster child for the candidate's "abstinence only" policy positions.

However, this story raises a question about Sarah Palin. Which child is she making choices regarding -- her eighteen year old daughter or the infant Trig? Which one is her child? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think John Edwards should take a paternity test - but now I want him to make it conditional on Sarah Palin taking a maternity test.

This is what Obamites have been reduced to: peddling ludicrous stories that have no factual predicate and are only intended to distract from real issues and smear the target of attack. First, there was the completely unfounded story about McCain cheating during the debate - Obamites were trying to suck all of the oxygen out of the real story, which was that Obama failed to deliver when challenged (e.g., "That's above my pay grade.") Now the supporters of the candidate for change are smearing Palin with a completely bogus charge about her maternity and Trig. But it's not just about Palin, but about the inevitable suspicion and humiliation of her teenage daughter caused by this smear.

i can tell you that picture of palin at supposedly six months pregnancy is the proof

she is NOT pregant in that picture

the FIRST thing that happens when you get pregnant is your breasts blow up to about double their normal size......hers are NOT

and at six months that baby (if it was in her stomach) would ride high and you could see a bump up under her ribs

it was bristol who held the baby(she was in a very loose black dress)

now this doesnt make any difference other than that palin might have LIED about it

I don't know if this story has legs or not. I want to know. That is all -- how can that be partisan or irresponsible?
