You're Giving this kid way too much credit...
by npr1

'She is now the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating in the 90s, and probably the most popular public official in any state.'

That is what the article in the Standard said in July, 2007. In February, 2007, Brickley started his blog. Gee, in just a couple months, this kid, whom no one's ever heard of, made this woman THE MOST POPULAR GOVERNOR IN AMERICA! All by his lil' old self.

Amazing. This 'brilliant kid makes hockey mom into hero' story is insulting to a very accomplished woman. The fact that she's the governor of a huge state (I know, I know, Hilary was married to the governor of the minuscule, in comparison, Arkansas, and that makes her something of a wonder...) has to be worth something. Hmmm. Do you think McCain might have stumbled across her without the aid of this kid's blog.

Nah. That would never happen.

Everytime I start believing Slate writes serious journalism, articles like this one come along and remind me what a whacked-out, contrarian "news" site Slate really is.

Thank you, Timmy.  I almost forgot.

I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE SLATE WAS A SITE WITH AN OPEN EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, THIS ARTICLE MAKES ME THINK IT'S JUST MORE OF THE SAME FROM THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: DEMOCRAT = SMART AND SKILLED

REPUBLICAN = DUMB AND LUCKY

TIRED OF SLATE ALREADY
