Democrats won't do it because Americans don't care
by Anse

The scariest thing about Bush's assault on the Constitution is that it has come with hardly a peep from Main Street America.

We have a very shortsighted mentality when it comes to things like torture and military tribunals. It would be nice if Americans were really upset over the Patriot Act, but I just don't see much in the way of real outrage among average joes.

I would like to say Democrats will at least restore respect for the Constitution, but I fear Bush has set the bar. What's going to be truly sickening is how many Republican dirtbags are going to go bananas if Obama should choose to take advantage of the standard set by the Bush administration. If Clinton had done a fraction of the things Bush has, we would have no end of it among the conservative talking heads.

You mean like Waco, Ruby Ridge, that poor Cuban boy, Gitmo, and a host of other things that were never harped on nearly as much as the Liberals have harped on that Bush did?

The difference between Clinton, who I feel was a decent president, and Bush, who I deplore is in execution NOT ideals. Your arguments are starting to sound like RML's or Desgme which is a decidedly negative turn from who you were 2 years ago.
