The sad truth of the matter

is that in order for a woman to succeed, she has to prove herself to be at least twice as good as a man in order to break that glass ceiling. . Hillary came damn close, I've watched Hillary Clinton, and trust me, Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton.

That is true. Palin's no Clinton. And from what I have observed, that will serve her well and be in her favor since she doesn't have the negative baggage attached to her that Clinton has. Palin is a clean slate and a breath of fresh air in the theatre of political pollution.

Unfortunately for McCain, this choice tells more about the man, than it does his choice. that being said, She is not ready to step into the shoes of the POTUS, which is the the most important function of a veep, and especially when the POTUS has had several bouts of cancer and is elderly.

Who is to say who is ready and who is not? The perception of Americans is what matters in that regard, and the will of the people will be heard this November. Pardon me for saying this, but it sounds a little like wishful thinking on your part regarding McCain's skin cancer. I'm not just referring to your comment, but dozens of other similar comments I've seen on other forums here. You guys on the left aren't secretly hoping McCain dies soon are you?

Let's explore that possibility. Let's say McCain wins and then dies one or two years into his presidency. Palin then becomes President. She then would have to pick a VP that would give her added experience and guidance necessary to run the country. It's not like she would be governing all alone. And speaking of governing, she has done exceptionally well governing the largest state in the country.

I would rather have someone...

that is "not ready" step into the VP (#2) slot than have one that is "not ready" (Obama) step into the POTUS (#1) spot. You guys have nothing to argue here. McCain's choice was a stroke of genius and goes along way to putting him in the Oval Office in January. You guys know this...you Dems are just in panic mode.

You know? You're right. Ms. Palin is uncorruptable and can kill skin butcher and cook her family's dinner...

Has she? Please detail her great accomplishments as Governor.

I can only laugh at the "largest state in the union" line....of course it's true, in area...but governance of open space doesn't take a lot of energy. The mountains and glaciers don't have the vote, the need not be convinced of someone's agenda.

She actually governs one of the smallest states in the union...and for just 18 months. After serving as Wasilla's Chief Ribbon Cutter for 8 years...

She vetoed 300 spending bills...and got strong ethics legislation passed... and she negotiated fishing rights with Russia. Of couse, she hasn't given that speech in a stadium yet...

Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton.

Thank goodness.

Sarah hasn't ridden the coattails of a powerful, philandering husband for 30 years, she's self-made, and has much more faith in the power of the private sector to solve America's problems than a statist like Hillary does.

Resource payments...

You didn't mention resource payments...

She negotiated international fishing rights???

I do know she picked my friend Vinnie's design for the state quarter...

Good point! She's probably made thousands of decisions (like the design for the quarter) that were subject to politically based criticisms. She has way better experience than Obama...

She's the polar opposite and Americans are going to realize this.
So...about that "negotiating"
by Craig
with foreign nations...

Exactly...Powerfully important decisions like where to cut the ribbon for the latest Wal-Mart opening and which design for the reverse side of a coin are her realm of experience.
