Here is the message I hear by John McCain's choice

1. She was a former beauty queen, as was McCains second wife. So looks are definitely important to him

2. She has five kids. so he values a womans ability to squirt out the kids

3. experience isn't that important, so he most likely her most important duty will be attending state funerals.

4. anti abortion in any circumstance, NRA member, pander pander pander to that conservative base.

5. picked her at the last minute and only met with her once. He's very impulsive.

It's a mystery why McCain would choose a conservative woman who hasn't been corrupted by Washington.

hmmmm

And 6.

In the statistical probabilty that he keels over, we'll have the Mayor of Mayberry with ZERO foreign policy credentials running things.

If Grandpa wins, i will personally mail him a 4 year supply of Citrucel, and Centrum Silver.

Well, she IS a strong woman who took on the corrupt machine IN HER OWN PARTY and kicked their ass. And she is a tough negotiator who vetoed 300 spending bills as governor and controlled spending and cut taxes. She's strong and competent and effective (so I can see why lefties wouldn't like her)...

You guys really do look ridiculous trying to use the experience argument against her...

Sorry HST

But BO's looks like an elder statesman in comparison.

We don't look NEARLY as ridiculous as Grandpa after spending the last year whining about BO's lack of experience.

No. It's not a mystery at all.

But it is a mystery why he would choose this, particular woman - who, with only 18 months in office, is already under investigation.
No, YOU guys look ridiculous

havingtried to use it against Obama, ignoring it now.

The gov't of this country is a serious business.

Re: Sorry HST

The fact of the matter is that you get more executive experience in one day as governor than you do in a year as a legislator. That's a fact! She has commanded their national guard. She has vetoed bills, She has negotiated agreements with foreign governments. You are on thin ice here dude...

Judy, my other comments on your other thread aside, although I wasn't just joking with those, let me post this reply here.

Really, I wasn't merely joking in what I said in my first reply.

I'd like to make some comments more politically regarding his pick. And, now I think of it, maybe I can.

He tried, and probably succeeded, in killing a number of birds with one stone.

1. he hit the 29%er base full on with a "god fearing" evangewhackjob, fiscal and social conservative who loves guns and blasting animals like Larry Craig loves a hard cock.

2. once again, he's hitting the 29%er base, this time specifically the white women of all ages in the 29% base, in choosing this good looking, perky mother of five with the added bonus of her fifth child born with Downs Syndrome to tug at the Little House On The Prairie/Touched By An Angel/Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman heartstrings of GOPervs everywhere who mythologize their leaders to god-like status.

I mean, just a cursory look at the Frayconned posts on here these last two days (Bruja's posts of yesterday really exemplified what I'm saying) shows they can't wait to make her into the new Mother Teresa.

3. one more shot across the ramparts of the Democrats to hit Obama on regarding the bitter Hillary female supporters.

Really, in many ways, he succeeded. Mostly with those first two points. But, to a much lesser degree, and only time will tell on this, with the last point.

However, I'm of the school of thought that most of those claiming to be ardent Hillary supporters who, because they're "so disappointed and angry because Hillary got rooked", say they're going to vote McCain now, we're really agents of the far right working Limbaugh's idea of an "operation chaos" to throw things way off to make it appear like there's this huge cadre of Hillary "supporters" who are suddenly defecting from the Democrat party.

When, in fact, they are just conservatives spiking the polls and commentary for their tactical PR advantages.

Am I "scared" of her? Nah, not at all. She's a cute, perky babe and, frankly, she turns me on in a very non-partisan way.

Do I think she'll appeal to any but the hardcore 29%er base? No. McCain is inextricably tied to the Dubya/Cheney admininstration, the worst this nation's had on all fronts since the robber baron/Gilded Age pre-FDR days.

He even rolled over and snuggled into Dubya's chest for crass, craven political self-interests, after Dubya and company trashed him and you GOPerv voters abetted Dubya and Rove in doing so.

Him choosing this cute, perky, but very unknown person from the corrupt Ted Stevens' state of Alaska doesn't change a thing for any outside the 29%er base. It all comes down to Johnny Mac himself. And he's a far cry from the "maverick" McCain he was back in 2000 when Dubya, Cheney, Rove and you GOPerv voters threw him under the bus, leaving him for dead, for the glitz and bullshit of the George Dubya Dawgshit snake oil product.

How's that for something a bit more sober for commentary?

It's quite obvious why lefties don't like her.......... she's got more actual experience than the guy they are trotting out there expecting to be President.

Two IMPORTANT things you overlooked, Judy.

She will break ties in the Senate, that means in favor of republicans. And she may be the President within the next four years. Not good for you, not good for me, not good for America.

"Don't like her", Jen?

Who says? Got posts and links to anyone saying they "don't like her"?

In the short few hours I've had a chance to check her out I do like her, though I firmly disagree with her ideology and politics.

I think she's a very attractive, perky, hard working, passionate..did I mention hot looking, older gal whom I'd love to share moose burgers with a hot time on front of the fireplace on a bear rug with. I can forgive her evangewhackjob and extremist nut-wing leanings for a chance at that MILF.

I just think McCain tried, and probably succeeded, in killing a number of birds with one stone.

Re: Here is the message I hear by John McCain's choice

I believe she was a brilliant choice because she IS experienced. Governing a state has always been considered better experience for being President than has being in the Senate. That's why governors usually win over Senators.

Her being "hot" or "perky" really means nothing. It won't get her womens' votes and it won't get her the votes of people who prefer Obama.

Her being unknown doesn't matter either. Those of us here on the fray (and other places) who pay attention to politics knew who she was long ago. Most people here in the USA didn't know who she was...........and also didn't even know who Biden was (as surprising as that may seem).

Palin rounds out McCain..... completes him. It gives the ticket depth. Biden did the same for Obama. Unfortunately, Obama needed so much to round his ticket out (since he was so lacking in every single area except for speech giving) that they had to leave executive experience behind. But that's okay.........they will still do well.

I think that this election is one of the most exciting we've had. Though I disagree with Obama on just about everything, I do not think he is a bad man. Either way this election goes, we will make history this year. Either we will have the first black President...........or we will have the first female vice president. I think that is absolutely great!
