As usual XXX girls boggle my mind

For a bunch of women who spewed venom and vituperation for months about Hillary Clinton, this namby-pamby response to McCains nomination boggles my mind. (except for the two mindless republican women posting here of course).

Where is the passion and outrage that should be on display? A cynical, pandering, nomination of a former beauty queen with a BS in communications-journalism and absolutely no experience in handling national affairs or Congress, is proposed to be a heartbeat away from an unhealthy old-man's Presidency.

And all you girls do is tip-toe around the obvious - too scared of being politically incorrect to call this spade a spade.

Man up girls- this nomination is an abomination on EVERY level. McCain is willing to put the Presidency into the hands of a person with absolutely no experience for his own political gain. It is a politically-expedient choice with total disregard for the safety and security of this (umm, YOUR) country.

I am an ardent Hillary supporter who suffered through your endless rants and downright mean-spirited put-downs of a highly qualified woman all these months. Where did all those ballsy-hyper-opinionated girls go?

Your gutlessness in this current circumstance only reinforces my original low opinion of your qualifications to opine on any matter outside of your upper-class, soccer-Mom lives.

political bias.

It's already been established that Palin already has MORE real executive experience than Obama who voted present for most of his time in the Senate BECAUSE he was too busy trying to get elected president to do his job.

If you despise Palin due to her politics or ideology, that's fine; but don't select a false complaint. She is more experienced than the Democrats' presidential selection.

No, I think kerryrose is right. I expected to turn to XX and read snide remarks about Palin, and the judgment of McCain, but the XX gals are slobbering all over her. I'm not sure why, except many of them seem to have babies on the brain...aren't the XXers the kind of women who wait until they're 40 to have children (and then write about them ad nauseum, believing that they are the only people in the world to ever reproduce)? Maybe it's identity politics here--they identify with a woman who chose to have a child later in life, along with a devoted hubby and a high-profile job.

to indulge in identity politics, why not women?

It's okay by me---white men have indulged in identity politics for years! :)

Demcon, we all have political bias - it's called having an opinion. So? As for more executive experience, um, less than two years in Alaska state politics doesn't count, to me. It's a tiny state (population-wise) with highly specialized economic interests. If she was governor of California or Texas or Florida or New York - someplace with a big budget, a big population, security concerns, immigration concerns and both rural and urban interests, then maybe 2 years might mean something. As it is, being governor of Alaska seems about equivalent to being mayor of some big city - and that wasn't good enough for the republicans in the primaries, so why should it be good enough now? As for the xx ladies, I think they, like most of the chattering classes, haven't warmed up their fight yet simply because they're in shock. It's taken 24 hours for most news sources to know anything at all about this woman, and it will take 48 before anyone really can form an opinion that doesn't just say: Well, she's cute, she's conservative, but, um, what?

Amen, Kerryrose. I read this page because as a woman I keep thinking it might have a perspective I'll agree with. So far, Hillary, a smart, experienced, hardworking candidate, has been consistently trashed, while Sarah Palin, an inexperienced, right wing politician with all kinds of baggage, is given a free pass. It makes me wonder about these women's capacity to think logically. They're so busy going on about not "judging" Palin because her daughter is having a child out of wedlock ( or conceived one out of wedlock) that they miss the more salient point which is a) the hypocracy of the right which goes on about the importance of moral values and examples but turns on a dime when one of their own is embroiled in this situation, and b) the fact that it is almost impossible to conceive of Palin being able to competently carry out her VP duties when she has both a special needs child and a pregnant teen to contend with, not to mention three other kids. You don't have kids and then turn them over to nannies. Hillary Clinton didn't do that, as I recall. And please don't talk to me about how the father is going to take over those duties. He's going to be busy campaigning etc. as well.
