Unbelievable. The issue in "Troopergate" is not the firing of the trooper. It's Palin's alleged attempt to get the Public Safety Commissioner (who oversees the troopers, among other things) fired for not wanting to fire the trooper based on the allegations in the divorce proceedings.

The GOP spin machine is working hard trying to confuse this issue. Apparently Henneberger's decided to join them.

should have done more. Consider that her sister's ex-husband used a taser on his 11 year old step-son. In addition, he made threats against Palin and her father. But actually, Palin did nothing.

As for the Public Safety Commissioner, he was fighting her on budget issues. She fired him because he bucked her authority.

Of course, it may turn out to be nothing. I'd certainly expect that McCain has vetted it. I expect the real issue to be that she was for the Gravina Island bridge before she was against it. Again, not necessarily fair, but national politics often isn't.

Either way, though, my post is about Henneberger, who completely botched the story.

coverage of this entire election. Hell, I have a hard time even stomaching this column, because these women don't have a clue about feminism. They whine about the glass ceiling, but for them to go to write their self-indulgent columns, they have to hire other women to clean their houses and watch their kids. And most likely feel themselves ill-used if they have to pay more than minimum wage to do so. Most of them spend more on a cup of coffee than they do for an hour of child care.

Feminism died for most intensive purposes under the weight of the self-centered, self-congratulatory egos of the women born over the last 30 years. Feminism to them is more about their sense of entitlement than it is in lifting all women up.
