I'm reminded of Clarence Thomas
by Gratuitous Python

and how the Republican's tried to pass him off as a legitimate black justice.

If Sarah Palin is the Republicans' equivalent to Hillary Clinton, it only reveals their contempt for American women.

Or perhaps......
by sodak

it reveals Obama's comtempt for American women when he failed to choose Clinton as his VP?

And you'll have to show me where anyone, lib or pub, has attempted to put Palin and Clinton in the same box, with the exception of their gender.

"legitimate black justice"...

How can anyone claim that Thomas is not a legitimate justice?

And Ginsburg is? Thomas has done nothing but give well thought out opinions during his time on the supreme ct. Just cause you dont like his politics, why make the negative comments.

Not choosing Clinton had nothing to do with her being a woman. It demonstrated no "contempt for American women." You're just another scared RWN grasping at straws. Good luck with that.

Because he was unqualified when nominated. And remains a laughing stock on the Court. Fewest published opinions of any other justice since he took the bench, and most of those either dissents or gimme's.

Have you actually read any of them?

ROFLMAO

"Because he was unqualified when nominated." Compared to whom? And remains a laughing stock on the Court. Who exactly is laughing at him on the court? Fewest published opinions of any other justice since he took the bench, and most of those either dissents or gimme's. It's not the quantity, it's quality. Are you measuring a Supreme Justice by the number of pages they wrote - not the actual DECISIONS they made? And, btw, Thomas has a solid philosophy, you can understand his reasoning. The liberals on court are nothing more than DNC lackeys, who would change any law at a drop of a hat if it suits their masters.
Thank you.

Thank you for demonstrating that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Thomas has a solid philosophy? LOL

You can understand his reasoning? Hard to understand something that doesn't exist.

Ginsburg had a distingished legal career before being nominated to the Supreme Court. Thomas did not.

But that's not the point. Blacks were looking for a Justice who would represent their interests on the Court as Thurgood Marshal had done. Instead, they got a conservative Republican hack who happened to be black.

Women were looking for a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate to represent their interests in the Executive branch -- someone like Hillary Clinton. Instead they got a conservative Republican hack who happened to be a woman.

Obama had legitimate political reasons for choosing Biden over Clinton. It had nothing to do with her gender.
