Do you really think a significant amount of women are going to decide based upon him picking a conservative woman to be his VP? Seems to me that electing a female pres. is something more important to liberal woman but she doesn't share their world view/values. On the other hand, she seems to be a bit of a lightweight from many perspectives and, given McCain's age, the thought of such a light weight becoming President must be entertained. Worse than that, it risks coming across as a ploy which could backfire.

I agree. Who can deny the brilliance of taking the only negative issue that works against your opponent and throwing it right into the garbage after spending millions of your sparse war chest on commercials on that very point. From now on, every potential voter will imagine John McCain dead the day after inauguration.

Its not surprising that lots and lots of conservatives are scratching their heads saying WHAT?
