The ReThugs Only Hope
by dobbsfox

All over the Internet the message boards are burning up with posters explaining why Obama's speech was no good. Just more of the same rhetoric from an empty suit, they say. More feel-good words for brain-dead followers who don't know "the truth," they say.

They can't criticize his looks, his intellect, his demeanor, or his stage presense. They can't even publicly criticize his race, not unless they want to put the true feelings some (if not most) of them have out in daylight once and for all.

They sure as shit can't say thier candidate (the guy who has already admitted he doesn't know much about economics, doesn't use a computer, and can't remember how many houses he owns) is heads-and-shoulders above him, either.

Their only tactic is to bombard the atmosphere with reasons not to vote for Obama, which is pretty sad. After 8 years of total Republican control of all three brnaches of government, you would think the GOP would have ONE accoplishment they could point to, other than setting all-time records for unpopularity. You would be wrong.

Get ready, Thugs. The Democrats are going to roll all over your asses this November, and no one will miss you.

just can't resist drawing out your race card and playing it, can you?

"They can't even publicly criticize his race, not unless they want to put the true feelings some (if not most) of them have out in daylight once and for all."

People are getting damn tired of you knee-jerk Obamacrats doing that and they are going to make you pay for that crap at the voting booth. Enjoy.

Yeah!

I agree, and hope that Obama will, indeed, hand John McCain his ass in November. We can't afford 4 more years of Bush-like rule, or even ONE year of a tired old man given to fits of uncontrolled rage.

Go, Obama!

While certainly not the entirity of the GOP strategy this Fall, the Republicans are certainly hoping the David Duke vote turns out if they are to make it over the top.
It was actually about Dems winning

...and your opposition to that sentiment shows you for what you are - a Republican, possibly a Limbaugh droid engaged in work for Operation Chaos.

I'm getting damned tired of liars like you pretending to be Dems. Vote McSame if you want to, but abandon the lies.

Well Demcon, the statement is justifiable. If one would only look at the avalanche of unwarranted ads and code words used, it's easy to see that the McCain camp, supremely aware of the racial divide, is betting on the closet racists and open racists to set the bar higher for Senator Obama. It really is a shame that they would exploit the poor to middle class Caucasians to vote for McCain because he is "one of them". At the end of the day, McCain and his cronies get paid, and poor Caucasians get played. Then everybody else is struggling but the priviledged few. People are uncomfortable talking about it, but I will share this w/you, you can't change what you won't confront. Yes, I am African American and no, I don't feel like youall owe me anything. If I was hungry I would not tell youall. I am blessed to be able to provide for myself.

Unfortunately, this is the truth of the matter, at least the racism issue. I live in a quiet Ohio town, fairly liberal. We are right next to a large population of predominately white lower middle class individuals. When volunteering and asking who the person called will vote for, it has been unexpected the number of people who say "I won't ever vote for a nigger."

There is a church in Columbus to which my fiancee's friend goes to. The pastor said, in a recent service as attended by the devout friend, that a black president is a sign of armageddon, and voting for Obama is voting for the End times. Unfortunately she is so brainwashed that she believes it all, so her vote has switched to McCain.

I'm not saying that racism is a republican value, but it is a major factor for a lot of voters. My next door neighbor is an elderly woman who has voted Democrat most her life, and is simply considering changing her vote because of his name. A racist decision second only to color.

Obama is a man with a vision and a plan. If you don't believe in the plan, go pick up his plamphlet that outlines, point by point, everything he hopes to accomplish. It is also evidence of the conservative media bias. Here is a great outlined plan, available to all, yet the media continues to hammer the thought that he doesn't have a idea where to start. His plan is in writing, his heart is in his speeches.

Anyway, you should really reconsider the idea that closet racism is not an issue, it is wrong, and you look just as ignorant as the racists when you deny its effect. In fact, you even sound racist when you refer to a card being played. The man is black, and it is a fact, you are really the one who needs to get over it (plus it's very unbecoming because it makes you sounds jealous that you don't have a "card" to play).

That's the problem with politics today. You can't disagree with someone intelligently you have to call them names. It wouldn't matter if Clinton was the one running for office, republicans don't agree with democrats. That's all there is to it. It isn't because he's black, although for some people it will be. But to say '...Republicans are certainly hoping the David Duke vote turns out if they are to make it over the top' is just showing how shallow your arguments are. It would be like me saying the only way Obama will become president is if minorities vote for him or white people who are only voting for him to prove their not racist. Neither argument should have any place in a political debate.

I believe the majority of conservatives felt his story was very compelling. How can you not? My only question during his speech was, if he could do all those things, go through all those experiences and come out on top, why can't anyone else? He said all these negative things about the Reagan era, yet that's when he and his wife accomplished all they did. His mother and grandparents made his well being and education their top priority. If everyone else did that, they could do the same things. But as he said in his speech, people bought too much house, people bought too much car, people run up their credit cards. And he asked where G.B. was? Give me a break. Those people made those decisions not Bush. He shouldn't be bailing out businesses who do that either btw. I do agree with health coverage for all though (as long as insurance companies aren't involved). If we can spend billions on a war, we can spend billions on health care for the poor.

I think the republican party is dead anyway. They are out of touch with conservatives today and I don't see McCain winning but I don't think we should have to settle for either a right wing president or a left wing president, I hope that in the future, more than just two parties are invited to the debates. Libertarian and Independents seem to put the country first, the others put their party first and just highlight what coincidentally just happens to be good for the nation.

According to Revelation, the End Times will last for 7 years followed by Jesus' return to Earth. Plus, all the true believers will be raptured up to heaven before the Tribulation.

So these people should be voting FOR Obama.
