So pick your own race. I can help.
by BigBill

As HardBoiledJuice said on another thread:

"Given that who counts as 'white' or of any racial category has changed as a function of historical and cultural forces, rather than biological ones, race simply does not stand for anything in biology."

A reality I am the first to champion. My work would be much harder if there really was a thing called "race". Of course, since race is not some biological phenomenon, but merely one of subjective perception or personal history, one can simply call oneself "black" and share in lucrative affirmative action benefits -- promotions, scholarships, college admissions, minority business set-asides and the like.

I should know. Much of my business is legally changing "white" people to "black" people, generally for Federal set-aside eligibility. Given the massive loopholes (and America's massive squeamishness about race) one can almost pick one's race. Think of race-changing as a kind of tax dodge or tax shelter, all thanks to the "one-drop" rule.

Almost every original American (Americans for 200-300 years) is actually "black" according to the "one drop rule". Things are a bit harder for recent immigrants and particularly for immigrants to the Great Plains and the Intermountain states (sorry, ND, SD, and NE), although sometimes we do get lucky.

So how is it done? In most states, one can petition a state agency or county court to change errors on one's birth certificate -- including race. With genealogical or DNA research by the appropriate expert and sympathetic affidavits, having one's "race" changed to "black" (or "Hispanic") is a virtual certainty.

The birth certificate correction process or proceeding is typically ex parte. There is no one who really cares to oppose you. Once you have the birth certificate changed you can have your driver's license changed as well. This second piece is trivial so I won't go into it.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, magistrates and county court judges suckled on racial propaganda cannot believe that anyone would willingly call themselves "black" unless they really are black and proud. Further, they have no capacity (or interest) to deal with scientific or other technical evidence. They routinely sign off on race change pleadings.

For those seeking minority business set-asides there is a second hoop to jump through: dealing with the race-certifiers.

Affirmative action is so lucrative that many people falsely claim minority status. For that reason the federal and state governments have authorized certain NGOs to investigate all applicants for government racial benefits and act as racial gatekeepers. They make sure that only "real" "blacks", "Chinese", "Indians" (dot and feather) and "Hispanics" are approved, and make sure that "whites" are kept out.

We have no problems with these folks. When they are presented with a computer generated birth certificate that gives the race as "black" they simply certify you. Although we do recommend "correcting" your driver's license as well.

When the birth certificate is issued with a separate court-ordered "correction" document attached, the race-certifiers require judicious handling.

"How common is it, really, for a 'white' person to be 'black'?, you ask. Go to this PBS webpage to read more about fluid racial identities the massive amount of race mixing and the lack of any racial discrimination in early America:

So how is business? Good! Most of my work is referrals. I do not advertise. I like to fly below radar. As you might imagine, the more social uproar, the harder it will be to keep my experts productive. In less than 20 years, however, race will be meaningless. Just as one can select one's gender in California and insist that it be respected, one will be able to select one's race. I am just a bit ahead of the curve.

The cost is between $10K and $50K (genealogy research and/or DNA analysis not included). My clients find my services extremely cost effective.

If you are looking for lucrative business opportunities, want your children to get in a good school, get an edge for career advancement, make more money, or have a bit of extra "insurance" that you will not be fired or laid off, talk to your attorney and ask him to call around.

Once he makes his inquiries we might wind up meeting each other.
