Long time Netflix
by Vegemighty

I was excited when I got Fitzcarraldo. Had dinner, drank some beer, tried to watch it on a Friday night, and fell asleep. Always meant to watch it, but went through a period of applying for grad school, rugby season, job interviews, a wedding, a honeymoon, starting grad school, and a lot of things sort of got ignored.

8 months later I finally watched it and quite liked it.

We seem to have that problem . . .

. . . with all Herzog.

My wife mocks my tastes for being too arty, too angular, but she often likes Herzog, despite his being one of the most . . . well, German of German directors. Still, it takes us forever to either decide we're both in the mood to watch it or decide that I should go ahead and watch it in her absence.

As a funny footnote, we have his early film Even Dwarves Started Small sitting at home; it's been there for about a week. :)
