Bill couldn't have been better

Melinda, all these national politicians are huge walking egos who want only to talk about themselves. Have you heard any of the interviews Jimmy Carter has been giving? You'd never guess he was a one-term president who left our economy and foreign policy in shambles!! In fact most state and local politicians are huge walking egos, too, but they just aren't as skilled as the national pols -- they are kind of the huge ego minor leagues.

So, with that a given, of course Bill's speech was largely about himself and his administration, but it was also: 1. a really good, well-executed speech; and 2. a speech about how Obama was ready to carry on the legacy of low deficits, economic propserity and a dignified foreign policy. It was just what was needed. His noting how he was criticized in 1992 for being young and inexperienced was a wonderful note -- after all of his veiled and not very veiled digs at Obama earlier, this was probably the most lovely concession he could have made. Because really Obama is like this generation's Clinton -- without the serial infidelities, however! -- both broke generational barriers in their run for national office; both could be both inspiring and pragmatic.

Bill Clinton very generously gave Obama the opportunity to coattail off of the success of his administration. This is something that Obama does not in anyway deserve.

Isn't it odd that Obama,

the new age political messiah, NEEDED Hillary and Bill Clinton to carry him on their backs for two days but that Bill never needed anyone but himself to win over democrats?

Obama has been waaaaaaaay oversold by the infatuated news media and by Obama fanatics and, of course, by the corrupt DNC leadership . . . and it's going to cost the Democratic Party this election. You Obamacrats have been self-indulgent fools and now it's too damn late for the entire Party.

I hope you politically tone-deaf cretins are damn will happy.

Uh, Bill kinda needed a 3rd party spoiler, and Hillary couldn't have won the general without Obama's support any more than he can win without hers.

Demcon,

If you weren't an emotional and intellectual cripple, you would understand how political campaigns work.

You lose the primary election if you fail to accumulate enough delegates. You don't throw a tantrum and join the opposing party when you lose -- you help the winner get elected in the general election. This is not a situation unique to the Clintons. It has been going on in this nation for over 200 years.
