these conventions have MUCH less impact than they used to.

Everyone will be looking for BIG Bounces in polls for their candidate after the prospective Rally's, err, Conventions.

I just don't see that happening to the degree it used to.

In all honesty, these things SUCK now, other than the occasional good speaker.

They need to be re-formatted to actually mean something again.....

This year is a different animal than all previous years, lots of different dynamics at work than the past few cycles.

A hotly contested Dem primary season, no incumbent in the contest, race issues and heightened concerns about security...plus Iraq are affecting polling. Throw in an economic downturn and some serious ill will between the 2 major parties and you have a real hot race going.
