The title says "salary" but the article talks about "household income." If it's salary, that means 1 person, so if you've got $250K PLUS whatever your spouse is making...that's definitely pushing it into the wealthy category. If it's two people combined each making $175K...that's pretty damn good (I'll never make that much) but not AS good.

I also might add that two married people each making $175K and splitting a house and all the expenses will have their $250K taxed at lower rate than a single person making $250 on their own and paying for everything themselves. when is THAT gonna change?
