Hillary Endorsement
by RM77

Hillary was brilliant. She stuck to the theme of economy that was set by the Obama campaign. It is not her job to praise Obama's Commander-in-Chief potential. Having critiicized him before, she cannot all of a sudden say that he is ready. Obama has to convince the voters himself. She cannot do that for him. She cannot say that Obama has foreign policy experience, because she has more experience than him. Probably Biden will address that issue. What she could do is reiterate that she and Obama see eye to eye on all policy matters. Which she did superbly. She gave that as a great reason for her supporters to vote for Obama. She could have said that Obama is a member of Foreign Relations Committe. But that would have been meaningless.

I was a Hillary supporter and I have doubts and concerns about Obama. To me he looks too cerebral. Saying "This is the Moment," hundred times does not excite me. I may not vote at all, even though Biden gives me some confidence.

Dickerson is wrong in criticizing Hillary. Hillary has no basis to declare that Obama is ready to be Commander-in-Chief.

"Obama...Looks Too Cerebral"
by LeRoy_Was_Here

RM77: I have doubts and concerns about Obama. To me he looks too cerebral.

LeRoy: You can actually say that, with a straight face, after eight years of George W. Bush?!?? A man given to saying things like 'when wings take dream', 'putting food on your family', 'Is our children learning?', and 'nukular'??

Sigh. Perhaps you are one of the many millions of Americans who seemingly want a President who is dumber than a doorknob.

You know, one you can sit down and drink a beer with.

People like Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, intellectual titans of their time, would not have a snowball's chance in hell of being elected in the America of today.

Too 'smart', I guess.

LeRoy: If your are searching for a reason, any reason, to vote for John McCain, jsut admit that you are a Republican.
What?!? I Don't Believe You Read My Post.

George W. Bush has been an unmitigated catastrophe for America. John McCain shows signs, if that were even possible, of being worse. I would not vote for either one of them if you paid me a million bucks to do so.

I cannot believe that you even read my post.

I was objecting to your absurd description of Barack Obama as being 'too cerebral', as if being smart should be considered a handicap in a Presidential race.

You need a reading comprehension course.

What is wrong in describing Obama as cerebral? He uses poetic language, flowery words, etc. This may not appeal to average people. People want action, not speeches or philosophy. Obama does not make it clear what he wants to do other than talk in generalities. He talks like an academic. While all these are good, it does not answer immediate questions.

I Think 'Cerebral' Is Good. You Think It Is Bad.

RM77: What is wrong in describing Obama as cerebral?

LeRoy: Nothing. He is cerebral. But I think that is a good thing, while you evidently think it is a bad thing. I want a thinking President. Don't you??

RM77: He uses poetic language, flowery words, etc.

LeRoy: Uh, so did our Founding Fathers. Read the Declaration of Independence, sometime, why don't you?

RM77: This may not appeal to average people.

LeRoy: The 'average' person in the United States has been severely 'dumbed down'. That is our biggest problem. Perhaps Obama can do something about that. Maybe by inspiring other people to, uh, you know, think.
