The standard talking point from the DNC is that Obama is losing because the American people don't "know" him yet. In January McCain will be sworn in because the American people never got to know Obama?

The DNC made a major strategic error. The well being of the nation was made secondary to the greenies and Europe. The refusal to drill for oil under any circumstances placed the DNC at cross purposes to the common sense of the American people.

Pelosi has now changed her "solid position" and will probably be forced to actually have a vote on drilling. She has told the Democrat members running for reelection that they can now support drilling. A stroke of genius.

The appeal of the European perspective on American foreign policy is key to the DNC. France is "right" but not the USA. Of course France has changed Presidents and its perspective but the DNC does not care, they will find a new "right" country. Perhaps Spain?

Liberalism appeals to the masses for the things it gives them for "free". When the people are smarter or the "free" stuff becomes unsupportable as it is rapidly becoming in Europe, they people recognize liberalism and its demagogues for what they are, unrealistic.

Asking that America has jobs for its citizens is too much? Asking that citizens have affordable heath care is too much? Are good schools too much to ask for too?

The "European perspective" should not be considered since it is contrary to the Republican's platform of war and more war?

Well, if liberals are guilty of being reflexively pro-Europe, conservatives are equally guilty of knee-jerk anti-European sentiment. So I guess that issue cancels itself out.

As for European policies supposedly failing...the Euro is a hell of a lot stronger than the dollar right now, and continues to gain strength. Some economies, such as Ireland's, are quite strong, while Britain is going through a credit crunch similar to ours. And so on. I have no idea why you are fixated on France, since liberals are not. Ranger, you oversimplify things to a fault, and seem incapable of acknowledging the complexity of things such as Eurpean economic and social policy. The reason our public schools suck is because the liberal democrats are beholden to the unions. Democrats talk about how the children are our most valuable resouce and yet they will do nothing to teachers and workers within the unions as far as firing thier incompetent asses!

It's not all the teachers fault though. Democrats are also sacrificing our children's education due to the amount of illegals children in those schools.

There is a high school here in Los Angeles with a 60% rate of non graduating students due to the fact that they can't speak english. Democrats are supporting amnesty, and that's what it is, for the 12-20 million here now to keep them in power. We both know that the hispanic population overwealmingly votes democratic because of the free services that liberals are notorious for handing out!

By the way, Obama has yet to deny that hey would not include these 12-20 million in his socialized healthcare program.
