He learned to pick Hillary.
by Parana

I think HRC has got the VP slot. HRC was born and raised in Illinois, quite convieniently where Obama and his number two will be holding their first big rally on Saturday. It is true, of course, that Obama is also from Ilinois and began his campaign in Springfield. But I'm not a big believer in accidents, and given that Illinois is hardly a swing state and Obama has shown no problem getting huge crowds wherever he goes, my best guess is that the first big combo rally will be held there because that is where both candidates are from.

Certainly nothing screams Biden about the locale. If the goal were to highlight his obvious foreign policy credentials as a running mate, Springfield is hardly the place to do that best. And it would make much more sense to roll out Bayh or Kaine or any other "Red State" candidate in their home state. Obama is meeting with Kaine tonight in Richmond. That sounds like a runner-up meeting to me, and I'm guessing we'll see the HRC annoucement on Friday morning.

Or not.

Obama will not pick Hillary because she is a disgusting sack of dogshit with no moral fiber who is loathed by millions.

He might as well pick Karl Rove to be his VP if he's looking for a self-centered scumbag that people will refuse to vote for.

Interesting fantasy world you're living in. What color is the sky?

Fantasy world? The reality is, Hillary lost and for good reason.

I'm hoping it is Biden. Although I don't have a problem with Clinton, I think Biden brings more to the table. Clinton may help him pick up votes, but it will also lose him votes, perhaps as many or more. So I don't think she can significantly help. If people want Hillary for the "experience" factor, Biden is even more qualified and better credentialed. There are those who won't vote for Obama, regardless of who the VP is (even many of Clinton's supporters have said they wouldn't vote for him even if she were on the ticket). That tells me that this isn't about their desire for Clinton, it is about their dislike of Obama...nothing can be done about that. Biases are hard to overcome.

I think its about the numbers. HRC brings the most votes, not least because she wraps up the base in a tightly wound package, gives Obama some needed room to head to the middle, and because she really is quite good with independent women. Biden is very practical in the sense that he is really qualified, but when was middle America ever longing for Joe Biden? Bayh is probably the ideal pick overall assuming there isn't anything bad we don't know about him. But is going to excite anyone outside of Indiana? Kaine just doesn't seem different enough to mean anything, even in Virginia, where he is pretty fresh as a state-wide figure. Me? If I'm Obama I would pick Gen. Wes Clark, who would demolish any advantage that McCain is percevied to have because of his military background and in undoubtedly qualified to be CIC. But if you can get over the ego issues (on both sides), HRC is the sensible pick for most reasons.

Personally-- and this is just me-- I doubt that Clark has any pull at all among voters inclined toward McCain.

Did she get 17 million votes or did 17 million people vote against the black guy?

Either way, 17 million people are fucking retarded, including you.
