Contrarian journalism is rarely interesting and often prickish. Not too long ago a newspaper columnist wrote that all he had to do was take steroids in order to have won as many bodybuilding contests as did Arnold. My head 'sploded from all the ignorance of what it takes to get that big and then win in competition. The best part was the picture of the columnist. He was a malnurished pencil-neck hippie with 70s facial hair seen mainly on earth shoe wearers.

Good for Phelps. It's people like him that make the games memorable.
