If He Wants To Win He Picks Her

Here's my take on it. There's no democratic candidate who gives him enough to justify being the VP pick. Biden's been running since the Reagan administration and has never won anything. Kathy who? Bayh, who would put in risk a senate seat by running and won't deliver anything HRC couldn't deliver (she won Indiana in the primaries). Keane, no.

And the race is tight. RCP has projected that BHO will win with only 275 electoral votes today. It used to be 317. That number-275-is only five more than needed to win. Any more slippage and it's President John, and who cares if you made a big speech in some European capital that doesn't speak English.

What does she bring? Everything. Money, support, enthusiasm, 18 million times over. Those 18 million gave her $250 million in the primaries; they've given him zippo since she conceded. Enthusiasm? Without her the HRC crowd will yawn, wish everybody the best, maybe take a fall vacation someplace nice (with the dough that could have been his) and settle in for the World Series and the start of the NFL season. McCain's not so bad and we got the Congress anyway.

Besides, HRC 2012 looking better!

I had an algebra teacher who got really annoyed when his students didn’t get it. I never thought he was a good teacher but I’m beginning to understand how he felt.

It doesn’t matter who Senator Obama picks for VP as long as he/Democrats wins the general election. He is the opposite of Senator Mccain and virtually consistent with Senator Clinton on all issues that really matter to the future of our country.

Does anybody honestly think that things (i.e., the war, economy, our relationship and standing in the world, etc.) are great the way they are now? Since when do we reward mediocrity and failure by keeping the perpetrators in power? If we keep the same mentality in power, why should we expect a different outcome in the future?

What really scares me is that 28% of Senator Clinton’s supporters who don’t get it or simply don’t care and will not support Senator Obama.

If Hillary is such a great choice:

Why was her campaign bankrupted and stillcallling for handouts?

and Why did she lose the Democratic Primary?

Of course you are correct lawpol, but Obama with his messiah complex and his supporters with their sense of entitlement-by-default can't see it. They mistakenly believe that they cannot be defeated no matter the numbers.

and Why did she lose the Democratic Primary?

Well, technically she didn't lose. Obama lost. Hillary received more popular votes than Obama, and in a fit of Politically Correct pique the superdelegates in the DNC defied their consituents, robbed her, and handed the victory to Obama. Which makes Barack the Affirmative-Action-Bush-2000 candidate. Not too inspiring!

ever hear of patty solis doyle?

hrc's former campaign manager?

she bankrupted hillarys campaign and got fired

and who snatched her up like she was candy????

obama..... hired her to essentially be in charge of the vice presidential nominee (whoever that might be) ....if i was a conspiracy theorist i might think this was a set up by obama

and besides hillary got 18 million votes......hardly a rout or even a good mandate from the dems.....

IF the object is to defeat the cons

then hillary would be the best choice

so i agree lawpol

Re: If He Wants To Win He Picks Her
by dems rock

exactly raven

my state went for hillary in the primary

but EVERY stupid super delegate from my state voted for obama

HARDLY what the people said they wanted

the dnc decided they wanted obama and used the rules to INSERT him into the nomination....even going so far as to take delegates AWAY from hillary and giving them to obama....a travesty....and why the dnc will NEVER get another dime of my money.....all monies will go directly to the candidates of my choice

Interesting take. How exactly does the Democratic Party select its nominee for President?

Do they use popular vote or some other metric like delegate count?

Re: If He Wants To Win He Picks Her

Well they are "supposed" to use popular vote if popular vote means not counting certain states because they used caucuses, counting Puerto Rico which has no EV's and counting all of MI's votes for the only person with a name on the ballot. Duh.

How silly of me, I forgot about Clinton's "special math" for counting votes.

listen bub

lets cut the shit here

hillary almost won the nomination and obama really has no real mandate from the democrats

she got just as many votes as obama, if not more

my point is

if the dems want to win in november

hillary would bring alot of voters to the polls

you deny that also??????

geez .....this demonizing of hillary STILL makes me angry

she is being a good lil democrat and going out there for obama and you guys STILL shit on her every chance you get.

grow up at last

will you?

Re: If He Wants To Win He Picks Her

michigan voted

in the end the dnc TOOK some of hillarys delegates and GAVE them to obama

FACTS just cannot be denied

Re: If He Wants To Win He Picks Her

dems rock,

I agree with you about the mandate and her influence. How about you quit shitting on the guy that won? Has he treated her badly in any way?

Re: If He Wants To Win He Picks Her
by itspattee

Here are some other FACTS...

The Democratic nominee needs 25 million more votes than were cast in the primaries. How does Hillary poll with Independents ?

There are Dems who don't like Obama and guess what...there are as many that don't like Clinton. There was not one Democratic running that had the support of everyone otherwise the primaries would have been over in February. Hillary spent most of her time attempting to make Obama unelectable and that is not someone who gains the respect of some of us.

Of course you will say he did the same (with no proof of course) but you can not say he EVER intimated that she was unqualified.

Re: If He Wants To Win He Picks Her
by dems rock

so pattee

you deny that obama tried and succeeded not only in destroying hillarys brand but also the only democratic president most remember?????

get a grip girl

obama is NOT a saint or anything close to it and he DID villianize the clintons which is still evident today by his the way his supporters (you included) still demonize hillary.....she is being a good lil dem and falling in line.....but the bo supporters, such as yourself....get your jollies by crapping on her.

again, my opinion, if the dems want to WIN ....i think hillary is the choice

i CAN have my opinion , cant i?

i damned sure can
