That's all this crap is. Or as Cosmo magazine would put it more bluntly: "IS HIS STINKY T-SHIRT RIGHT FOR YOU?"
We test powerful drugs over and over and over again, for years and years in rigorous clinical trials, and many of them fail, even promising drugs. Yet any stupid idea, as long it has somebody's half baked 'study' behind it, gets promulgated far and wide and believed and implemented.
Unfortunately, ideas can often be more dangerous than drugs. How many women will now get pregnant because they've decided the pill is wrecking their sexual nose and thus their ablity to choose and keep a mate?
The fact is that most of humanity, probably even today, gets married through parental arrangement, not through personal choice. Second runner up to parental arrangement would probably be rape and seizure. And for most of humanity, divorce has simply been out of the question. For most of humanity, choice is simply not an option.
So the entire premise that women (or men) are by nature supposed to go out into the mating jungle and select their own mates and then figure out how to stay mated is something that is not even close to being established as a basic fact.
Romance, and the romantic idea that there is some mate out there who is just 'right' for you (with the 'right' genes and thus the 'right' scent which the 'smart' reader of Cosmo may thereby detect) may simply be a romantic notion peculiar to Western culture.
If we're having problems choosing the right partners for ourselves and staying with them, it would be far more likely that the problem arises in our poor thinking and attitudes and beliefs rather than in our noses.
